Sony preparing for Halo 3 release in September

The Halo effect is now taking hold and Sony is taking some steps to try and counter the juggernaut known as Halo 3.

does anyone know exactly what these 30 titles are? as there are some titles coming out on PS2 which if where available in next gen gameplay/graphics then i would probadly be getting a PS3 sooner then i thought ;)

I'm still happy hacking away on H2 on Legendary and am in no rush to buy Halo 3 because although it will be better(more vehicles, missions/maps, gimmicks, visuals), at its core is the original Halo game. The huge preorders are from the loyal fanbase built up of the last 5 years.

So just enjoy the game and stop the flaming.

i am NOT a fanboy, and why cant i ask whats comming out on the PS3? soon as though i am waiting for some titles that interest me rather then going along with the rest which are looking forward to games such as Lair. dont get me wrong i think it looks cool, but it doesnt interest me as much as other titles.

If Final Fantasy (cant say MGS4 as its not multi platform) but yeh if Final Fantasy came out between now and end of september, then i would agree with this article and would love to see what happens like which sold more etc, but with the titles mentioned in the article i can not see how this article is really valid... remember this is my "opinion" and dont argue as we are all entitled to our own opinion.

Final fantasy has been pushed to Spring '08 . . http://www.gamepro.com/news... so scratch that one off the huge list of games . . . And, Haze has just been un-exclusived by Free-Radical . . . countering to internet claim that the game was to be a PS3 "exclusive" . . . Which is a good thing really, as it's a great game, and would be lost in amongst all the other AAA titles coming out at that time, and seen as a wise move on Ubi's behalf actually. They have 6 major titles hittingthe shelves in the later part of the year, several of those Xbox360 exclusives . . .so one more OFF that list won't hurt either the company, or the gamers alike.

Microsoft will have so much media attention that Sony will need to do something to draw attention away, in any way they can. They may have some new games yet unannounced they may drop or lower the price of the PS3, announce some new hardware, or any combination. Halo3 will likely sell some hardware--the question is how much; the media frenzy will be more free advertising for M$ (though they'll also be doing their own).

well, how do i know? that`s simple - on GDC07 they show LBP and Home, on SGD Amazing 1-2 party games, and now they probably will show almost everything that they have, and probably leaving something for TGS07 in september. =)

All the comments about how Halo 3 is over-rated! What and Killzone 2 isn't!? Take a game where it's first version was only mediocore (come on, the first one wasn't anything special), show the sequal as this really cool CGI movie and people think the PS3 will magically fly of store shelves because over-night Killzone became Sony's Messiah.

Look, I own both systems and I all I hear about the 360 is people talking about it's games but, with the PS3 we talk about Home and how our OLD games are upscaled because, Sony's game line-up is really weak. Because if they did you would know that you can play against each other and each other only. You don't have to play against people of ranked and watch them destroy you. Halo 2 became popular because of Halo 1. Halo 1 became popular because of its multiplayer experience. There was no Live play but every single person that is still playing Halo 2 played Halo 1 on system link, there was no cheating there. Why? because you were playing amongst friends. Which is what you should do with Halo 3. But instead, play online and you will not have to deal with no cheating. Nuff said.
Now for Halo 3 being countered, I don't see anything that will counter it. The only thing that had a chance was GTA, but MS was smart enough to bring Halo 3 out sooner than we all expected. I just hope it doesn't turn out to be a rush job.

Sony could also go spend a couple hundred million dollars in crying-doll TV ads, but a better use of that money would be a price cut.

The plain and simple fact is that as of today, Halo has more pre-orders than Sony has sold PS3s. Without a price cut, Halo might sell more copies at launch than PS3s in the while in September.

Sony should be careful about shipping too many of their few exclusives at the same time, though; they all fall more or less into the same genre of third-person action games, body-count-driven adventures, and they could end up cannibalizing each other. (The only thing worse than no exclusives, is exclusives that sell slowly and fritter away the hype.)

Again, they only viable alternative open to them is a noticeable price cut. (And that assumes MS is *really* going to wait until November 22nd to do their price cut.) If MS takes Nintendo seriously and cuts prices in July, all bets are off.

Sony is desperate to find something as huge as Halo. But spending millions of dollars and hundreds of manpower to Killzone is not the answer. The first 2 were complete garbage. Haze is another wannabee trying to steal Halos thunder but will fail like the rest. It's like GTA...yes, Saints Row got good review and sold well, as did a bunch of other copycats. But nothing beats out the original GTA. GTA4 will destroy all other sandbox gangsta games.

There is nothing Sony can do about the popularity of Halo. Sony should just keep on talking about folding and home! :p

Let me just say first of all this is MY opinion, and I do have a PS3. I think Sony was relying on pure fanboyism alone to sell the PS3. I think their number one goal was to get a blu-ray player in a 100 million homes. Can you imagine the royalties they would receive every year, billions. Because if you think about it fanboys aren't true gamers, they can't even consider a game to be fun if it isn't on their respective system. You don't need Bluray to play games. All you need is a game sytem and the games.....It's that simple. Developers time and time again have said that the sweet spot for game development is at 720p for better frame rates and overall performance. I think people have forgotten what gaming is all about. I can tell you a few things though. Its not about True 1080p. Its not about fitting a game all on one disk. Its not about cell+rsx. Its not about unified shader architecture. Its about having fun. People are so feeble minded they will buy into any type of propaganda because they think they are supporting a cause. What cause? Sony winning the format war and becoming richer than they ever dreamed. I honestly hope that Nintendo wins....They seem to be well on their way....

I admit, I'm completely PS3 biased. But who cares? I'm having fun with it, even without the lack of games at the moment. I'm playing Warhawk, and I can tell you, it owns Halo.

You see, as a PS3 fanboy, I played Halo. Here's my little review:

The game started with an ugly cutscene, crappy textures and some weird alien fight in a spaceship, reminded my of star wars (ugh?).

As I got further in the game it turned out to be more of the same. Stupid sh!tty aliens, shoot, can't duck, weird animations etc. Call of Duty 1 and CSS sure pwn this sh!tty shooter.

The only thing good about the game is its theme song. Damn, that really worked immersive, but only for the FIRST time I heard it.

Well, at this point, I can say: Warhawk pwns halo in any possible way. And I really can't wait for all those great action games coming out on the Playstation 3, and heck, maybe we'll even get a good shooter (Killzone 2).

Every system will have its share of the spotlight. The 360 is the first out of the bunch, launching its flagship title Halo 3. It goes name and name with the XBOX 360. The game will definitely be superb to the type of genre it is and the audience to which it's aiming, it will be a contender for game of the year.

PS3 will have a hard time countering the popularity of Halo this year. Next year though, Sony will have its flagship title from Square Enix.

A breath of fresh air!? Drake is the only one out of the bunch thats looks promising, the others are rehashes of past franchises. The only reason those games will be the best rated games is because the PS3 doesn't have any at this moment in time.

......maybe you could clarify what exactly it is that your trying to say. So, all of a sudden, you finish a game, and then play it online since you're done with the single player, and that's a bad thing!? You have a real idiotic sense of logic.

Simply put, Halo 3 will sell great for the simple fact that, Halo 1 was great, Halo 2 was great, and with each successful iteration, the series has made more fans. With the comic book series, the graphic novel, and the paper back novels, even more fans of the series have gathered, and now with the release of Halo 3, there simply is nothing Sony or anyone who doesn't like Halo, can do about the sales in which this game/series is going to make.

Halo 3 will simply be unstoppable.

I don't know who compared the first killzone to Halo but that wasn't a good idea. I think Killzone 2 is going to be alot better, I've played the first one and it had alot of potential but it was hampered down by the hardware. I think Sony should just leave Halo alone because it's gonna sell regardless. Most of the people who bought their 360 is for Halo. I am playing the beta right now and the more I play it the more it just feels like Halo 2 but I think when the final game comes out it's going to be crazy, I love that bubble shield too. Halo 3 will come and sell Millions of copies and probably break the record that Halo 2 already holds (I think it's the most sold game over a weekend or something like that, please correct me if I'm wrong).

New titles like Heavenly Sword, Lair etc will sell plenty but I think are not well establised francise yet to get that massive word of mouth to sell massive amounts to match what Halo 3 will sell (6 million pre-orders already!)

The only games that could help Sony battle against Halo 3 dominance in September are MGS4, FF13 or a new God of War game on the PS3.

Unfortunatly all 3 are out next year, but that will be the year that Sony may walk all over MS unless they have a big flagship title, which I can't see happening, especially with no Halo title coming in 2008.

As long as MGS4 and FF13 sticks with the PS3 and doesn't go multi-platform on the X360, Sony looks good for a great year next year, which will be when I will purchase my PS3.

Not matter if your a PS3 fanboy or not, you can't deny that the X360 has some great big titles this year that are not available for the PS3, including Bioshock, Mass Effect, Alan Wake, Fonza 2 etc

End of this year (maybe next for some of the titles in Europe), it will roll over to Sony's camp with the big big titles they have to offer, plus Home!

MS this year, Sony next year and Nintendo will trundle along and continue to do well!

too impressed with Halo 3 at the moment, despite the fact that it's guaranteed to sell millions of copies. They love cross-console bickering even more than we do, and there are bound to be plenty of "360 Not So Next-gen?" articles once E3 comes around.

As for Sony however, they're not going to respond to Halo 3 at all. Technologically, they've got a huge advantage over Microsoft and that gives them a lot of leeway. Microsoft has spent the past 2 years trying to counter Sony's moves, which goes to show who has full dominance. As far as I know, Microsoft has about 8 big titles that they're going to promote at E3: Forza, Bioshock, Project Gotham, Mass Effect, Too Human, Lost Odyssey, and Halo. The great thing is that they've gotten first dibs on E3 presentations, and an entire day is going to be dedicated to their accomplishments.

The downside is that it gives Sony an extra day to pull together tech demos, game footage, and counter-strategies to what Microsoft presented. And if the majority of journalists who attend Microsoft's presentation come out less-than-impressed, Sony and Nintendo's offerings will look that much sweeter.

Even though E3 has been scaled down, it's still going to be the big showcase of games for this year!!

DJ has a point about MS going first giving Sony the advantage of an extra day to prepare, but Sony have to have a better presentation than they had last year, which even if your a Sony Fanboy have to agree was a major disappointment, especially after the strong presentation they had in 2005 with the KillZone trailer!

Now if they showcase Killzone that is playable and that looks exactly like the trailer, Sony will gain a massive advantage. If Killzone looks similar but not identical to the trailer, because that is what everyone is expecting to see, Sony will look foolish for implying that the PS3 could run something that was as good looking as the KillZone trailer!

One thing people forget though is Halo 3 SINGLE PLAYER!! Yep, a majority of people have played or at least seen screen of Halo 3 Multi-player and although it runs smoothly and looks pretty, there is no major jump from Halo 2.

Single player on the second hand could be a completly different kettle of fish, because no one knows how that will exactly look or play. It's been guarded in secret, probably for the big presentation at E3! Remember what happened when Halo 2 SP was shown at E3??? It was a huge hit!

Hopefully Sony has done there homework and have a long list of titles that will battle with MS. Playable versions of Killzone, MGS4 AND Final Fantasy 13 alone will seal a victory for Sony. Without those, they will only satisfy the gaming public. Give the public what they want Sony, MS is!

Despite a few killer titles shown at E3 06, as a whole the presentation was pretty weak. Not only was the presentation room pretty small, the playable titles looked worse than what the 360 was showing. Some infamous PR quotes were made at E3 06 as well...

E3 05 on the other hand had perfect buildup and pacing, and just when you thought you were impressed, they showed something even more impressive. They've got a lot of work to do, especially since the outcome of the console wars depends partially on this event.

I don't believe Killzone will look identical to the target trailer, but that might actually not matter. As long as it looks better and plays better than every other FPS title out there, Killzone will gain a massive following and Sony will reap the benefits. For me, the two most impressive things about the target render were the volumetrics (for explosions, missle contrails, clouds) and the interaction level between both the AI and player-controlled characters. If they can match those, I'll be wholly impressed.

manged to take all the publicity for the helo 3 beta with SGD. For the entire week there were only PS3 news on this page and some of the 360 fans complained about that. I remember reading comments like" all the 360 fans are playing halo 3 beta that is why there are no 360 news". Beta was limited not everybody could pay. Sony will take some of the hype away but it will not help them much because helo 3 will sell over 8 million copies. At the end it will not be any better than helo 2 and will make history as the most overrate game of all times.

even if sony had better line up for countering halo 3, its gonna fall flat since halo franchise is a well oiled machinery, working real smooth due to the 2 prequels to it. since all of sony's line-up for the fall and the holiday season have to prove themselves to the market, it will take time and out of the " 30 exclusive titles", if some do make the mark as a AAA game( none of u have played any of the ps3 games coming during that period, so we dont know how it will pan out, thats what i presume!)then by the time it becomes a success, halo 3 will already be off the shelves and would have most probably gained a gold status!! I must say they do have a good line up, but still I can get almost half of that on my PC why get it on a console. Don't say Live cuz MS has G4W Live now. There are a few things I would like to point out about your listing.

Fabel 2 is likely coming in 2008 and will likely be coming to PC as well.

How so? I really don't see anything else listed for X360 only if I missed something let me know ah yes I see I missed Ace Combat 6. What else? I know of Alan Wake, Bioshock, and a few others that are also on PC. PC is a seperate platform in my eye since I have a semi decent PC that can play PC games and I don't need a X360 to play them. Either way I plan to get the X360 in 2008 or 09 when its dirt cheap.

In all honesty KILLZONE one sucked, but not entirely. The gameplay, and story were decent, but not perfected. It deserves nothing more than a 6-7/10 review. From the sound of things KILLZONE 2 might be a turnaround though. It could offer something no game has brought us. I have no doubt it will score 8-10/10 I believe Halo 3 will do the same. Titles like Halo 3 and KILLZONE 2 should be set in another catagory they are more like AAAA games. Its all their one company making the game talks about forever and spends more money than any other games in development about as much as some movies cost to make. They are spending to much money on this game to make it flop. They will do their best to make it as good as they can make it.

There are more Preorders sold for Halo 3 than the entire PS3 install base. (4.1 Million vs. 3.7 million) Seriously, what can they do?

Even if a game had a 100% attach rate it couldn't beat Halo 3.
If they drop the price of the PS3 before they can make a profit on it, it could cripple the company, not to mention Microsoft would wait maybe a week before lowering the price of their already profitable 360.

Little Big Planet looks like it could be addictive. so was Animal Crossing, and this doesn't look incredibly innovative over that. Sure level design, but how long will that last? I can only jump around inside a box for so long.

Gran Turismo is starting to fall behind Forza both with fans and critics, getting more exotic licenses and paying the fees for permission to damage the cars went a long way.

Killzone was a huge disappointment in it's first installment, and even hardcore Sony fanboys are thinking twice. And the limited bits we're actually seeing makes me wonder if this is going to end up being vaporware.

Gamers are excited about MGS, and with good reason, Kojima is a talented individual, but even he will tell you it's not going to touch Halo, save in Japan.

Heavenly Sword, Drake, Lair etc. All will be good games I'm sure, but I can't compare having a powerhouse $600 system with a few decent AAA games to having a really strong $400 system with a whole bunch of AAA games. especially when most of the third party AAA's will be on both.

I know a LOT more people excited about Forza 2 than any GT game that's come out in the last 10 years. The first 2 Gran Turismos were awesome. You could at least approximate your old junker car, getting it tuned and ready to race. It was exhilirating and the best racing experience on a console. Then GT 3 A-Spec came out and it was hyped like crazy, then I get it home and it's f*cking mediocre. No used cars. Less cars. Less tracks. All eye candy and no substance. Forza came out and the gameplay was miles beyond GT 3, and the damage aspect forced people to drive instead of point the car.

Gran Turismo 5 seems about to fix the screw ups that were GT 3 and GT 4. I hope it does, but Forza has been reviewed better by multiple sources, save PSM and OPM. But I would think that they're a teensy bit biased.

Oh, and GamePro, but GamePro has been garbage since 1996.

Ok if you don't think that LAIR and Heavenly Sword don't look promising and they are rehashes of past franchises, then I could redirect that what is HALO 3? its a rehash of past franchises...the past is what makes the games today great. I'm not saying Halo 3 won't be good game, because it will be I love the storyline but the game play is to easy, Killzone had a funner game play. I love games and love the consoles, I try and try to be even in my judgments man but when you have all these other fanboys out there bashing my favorite company and console and saying crap that doesn't have any facts to support them, then thats when I start coming back at them.

And going back to playing the single player once and then all you have left in the online, well man you can only play the single player mode for so long and then its time to quit, this is how it is for me and Resistance FOM I loved the storyline and the online what great but after awhile I lost interest, because it just was the same thing over and over again and when people glitch then it just becomes stupid. Yes Halo 3 will be a great game, but hopefully Bungie gives you alot of extra content to make your money worth while due to the fact you pay for the online.

Truthfully man I wish they would all come together and make one freaking sweet console that developers can make really take the time to make a game on that will kick ass...but that will never happen so we go on fighting between consoles and games and what not, but thats the fun part!

First off, for all those people saying halo sucks or halo is overrated. We'll start with some economics. theres this thing called demand, normally, if a product isn't good, or if many people feel that the product is not meeting the standards of which they feel it should(this is the overrated part), or it isn't marketed properly, then people don't buy said product, however, if the product is very good, and meets the expectations of consumer than the product does sell. This explains a some things, like why games like halo sell really well, because it does in fact meet the consumer expectations and these are usually boasted by the title before.

So if you believe that a tittle that has not been released, and is getting mixed reviews(lair, heavenly sword, both have gotten mixed reviews from places like kotaku) will beat a game that is on it's third and final chapter and has set a new standard in the way we play fps's on a console, that has had 2 previous titles, the first scoring an average of 95.6 and the second 94.6 you are sadly mistaken. That's like expecting lost odyssey to do better than final fantasy 13, it just wont happen.

Halo has something called mass appeal and name recognition, this is something few games accomplish, and is set in the standards of mario, pokemon, final fantasy, cs, gta. What that means is that the title is almost guaranteed to be known by the public and get noticed by the "casual" gamer. Something that lair and heavenly sword hasn't done yet(i can't ask a friend about those games because they just give me a questioned look).

So stop trying to use unreleased titles to compare halo 3 with, it doesn't work.

Next is for those people comparing games to the 360 lineup. Neither Gran Turismo 5 or Forza 2 Have been released, and if you think that gthd looks better than forza you've got to get your eyes checked, there's only 2 things that makes GTHD look better, and that's the replay(because it ups the AA and gives better camera angles), and the lighting on the cars, other than that the games look the same, and it ends up coming down to which games offer the most features, and best gameplay.

For those people using killzone 2 to trump halo3, please give me a screenshot of gameplay from it, because I haven't seen anything for this game since the CGI trailer.

Both systems have diverse, and large lineups. Both will be very good for each system, but as of right now, most journalist will say that the xbox 360, 2007 lineup is stronger than the ps3 2007, yet fails to the 2008 lineup. So please stop comparing the systems, it's the most fanboy thing you can do.

All this hype of Killzone2 and all anyone has seen was the CGI trailer, not to say the first Killzone wasn’t the greatest game. This isn’t a fanboy comment but, I don’t think there is much Sony can do about HALO 3. Most people that are going to get the game already have it reserved, and I just don’t see people trading in HALO 3 for another game. When HALO came out I remember thinking I will wait till they have a used copy, 1 year later and that didn’t happen; so I broke down and bought it. When HALO2 came out I had never saw a video game release so big lines everywhere people waiting at midnight just to get the game. HALO has a tremendous cult following and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
As for the people who say HALO 3 sucks because of the graphics, I will honestly say play the game before you make judgments. Despite the lack of NextGen graphics, the game play is killer; I was going to over look HALO 3 but now I have to have it.

What a bunch of Bullshit posts. The media's upset with what!?; a beta of multi player?, something thrown together with place holders and things that won't be in the final game.

Halo's a legacy(like Star Wars) Theres going to be gameplay factors that will out shine all other FPS's with advanced AI and number of enemies on screen, this will pull in gamers that never really played Halo all the hype and popularity will only make it more unstopable. I'v done some reading this games going to be a monster.

Sony can not compete against it no mre than Pitch Black could compete against Star Wars back in the day when the movies were good.

Somebody on the dev team that was talking about Halo 3 single player and said that there was armies of space creatures(covenate) on screen at once and smart, Its a good thing they added 4 player co-op for the harder settings.

The brute Vidoc eairly build of Halo 3 graphics look way better the the beta, you know!; when the brutes were shooting at eachother in in the basement bunker structure. If you think that Halo 3 is going to look like the beta you shouldn't be saying anything about this game the GOD DAM! vidoc of an eairly build of Halo 3 looks far better than the Beta.

If you have a friend or have access to a 360 on a HDTV watch the Brute vidoc and you'll see that the enviroments have a GoW-ish gritty look to them still maintaining the vibrance of the classic Halo art(moving in the art direction of the pic on the top of this page).

It's going to be intresting to see how smart and how many Marines are in this game and how complex their roles will be(wish you could give them orders and used their own vehicels).

From what i read it seems like Halo3 atleast in some battles/missions you'll be fighting in Epic battles or in a middle of a grand war on a battle field and not just carrying out mission killing off fragments of resistance in your way.

Just don't make comments based off of the Beta.

I'm going to use my last bubble and agree with the comments that #77 made.

What you have seen is a really small small part that is Halo 3. What is going to sell Halo 3 is the single player, and from what the VidDocs have hinted at, and some media that has come out, the single player is going to be EPIC.

Remember, this is the end of the fight. The fight on Earth. The Humans joined with the Covenant to fight the Brutes and the Arbiters, and probably Gravemind. These are going to be huge battles on big battlefields. This was hinted in the CGI trailer when the Chief runs and jumps into the pack of Brutes with the massive battlefield ahead. This is also hinted on the first Halo 3 trailer when the Chief witness all the banshees fly above him!

This is going to be a massive game, and probably the reason why very little of the Single Player has been shown, Bungie want to keep it a secret......ready for E3!!!!

Come June we will see what Halo 3 REALLY is! Add 4 Player Co-op, Multiplayer with 10+ maps and different playlists will make Halo 3 a must have 360 title for all FPS fans.

We've seen nothing yet. I just hope for Sony they have something to stand against Halo come E3, and that they are not caught with there pants down like last year! Graphics are definitely an integral part of an amazing game experience as they draw you in. But look, just look at what were looking at...Nobody complained when mario and Sonic looked like ass and were linear. So why complain now because Halo's trees and textures aren't as pretty as another game? We have come a long way since the first machines and I can safely say that I am ready to see advances in the technologies behind gaming, not just the graphics, realism is what you make of it. I don't think we can base it on units sold.
I think we need to base it on units sold per number of consoles, or number who have a ps3 and that game.
Such as I think Resistance should be a killer app because there is a high percentile of people who have who bought a ps3, but in units sold it doesn't light a candle to gears. this is because, at the moment, there are far more 360 owners than ps3 owners.

What's Sony got to worry about? Now that they have more games that would be released soon, just concentrate on one or a few titles which they believe should make the public stand-up and give a second look... I love my XBox360, and still am waiting to buy a PS3 { when the time's right - reasonable costs, more titles ( very soon ), force feedback ( settled ), others like - better, cheaper to produce chipset, probably more extras ( 80gb as standard like in Korea ) etc... } We know Halo is one of the most anticipated titles, but then they have Drake, Lair etc... Just concentrate.

Panzer Dragoon Zwei and Orta are rail shooter perfection, and absolutely gorgeous and shining examples of style and artwork.

Panzer Dragoon Saga kills any chance of Lair having a better plot device as well.

Lair is a pretty looking little game, but it isn't going to be even CLOSE to what Panzer Dragoon is.

GameJunkie, Panzer Dragoon was a well rounded example of creativity, and perfect art direction.......Zwei was the best of the shooters, but saga was shear brilliance......I still have a copy factory sealed...........I don't think gamers these days can truly appreciate a game of its caliber......it really is a shame

If the took out the gameplay, shallow characters, bad story and cruddy weaponry, Killzone 2 might be more fun though. I guess they can keep the name if they want the negativity attaxhed to it.

My point is that if you want Killzone 2 to be even close to the game that Halo, Halo 2 or Halo 3 is/will be, you need to make it absolutely nothing like Killzone.

1 - alot of ppl have played halo3 beta now, i think we can all agree the graphics are better but it is no Gears of War

2 - i myself when it comes to games always hope for the best
so when ppl compare killzone 2 to halo3 and they say killzone 2 will kill halo3??? well for one thing- none of you have ever seen anything on it besides the trailer way back and nothing since, even if killzone does LOOK better halo3 is still a good game

The only problem i see for Sony is that there going up against a game product that is known to a massive audience.Halo is known just about everywhere to anyone with the slightest interest in games - lair,heaven etc are not and coupled with ms advertising closer to the launch,i doubt much will be getting in the way of Halo3.

I own a PS3, but I acknoledge that Halo is a good game on multiplayer. I have played it a couple of times and it is good for a laugh.

It does not have to be a FPS that catches peoples imagination, with Warhawk, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Heavenly Sword out around then. Add to that the Killzone 2 demo and it might just turn a few heads.

Most reviews of Killzone started with "This is no Halo beater", it was not really fair on the game. PS2 could never really handle FPS too well, but the game was not poor.

Competition is what keeps making the games better all the time, without it no company would have to strive for better sales. Halo 3 will be good and you can bet bottom dollar that Killzone will be at least as good if not better by the time it is released.

You should read the responses in that site. One guy said how can the 360 play MGS4 when its so large it needs Blu-ray so why would the 360 get extra content, makes sense although HK was just marketing blu-ray as if MGS4's a sandbox, theres plenty of PS2 games of that type on many discs, now its a problem?. We'll never hear the end of that if it was ever possibly true; hope its not PS3 fans are already emotionally on edge in nature.

Sony's attempts are futile, Halo 3 will crush Killzone 2(first game was garbage, check game rankings) just like how gears crushed resistance. Fall of man hasn't even sold over 700,000 copies yet. Gears has probably surpassed 4 million.

Okay now lets get one thing right I am 21 years old I have been playing games since I was like 4 or 5 years old. I know how these console wars will play out. And you know what it wont be decided by which console has more power. Or what movie format they support that has nothing to do with games. I own a DVD player thats anuff for me. It will all come down to one simple thing GAMES who has more and whos are better (as in fun gameply). Thats why PSO was such a bad ass. They killed Sega. Nintendo are tough cookies they refuse to quit. But that said they are not a real challenge to Sony’s might, the only one that stands in their way is Xbox the only console to ever give Sony a run for their money. Like when XBOX came out I dont know if any of you who owned both consoles like me noticed that games for both consoles the Xbox ones had a little better graphics. But did that make Xbox top dog hell know. Sony overwhelmed them with games too many to count thats why PS2 came out on top. But that said Xbox had a good first run they did take some ground from Sony. And my friends thats what will decide this war is games who will make more. Not movie formats or better graphics. But all in all I’m glad to see this conflict between two Giants It will give rise to some awesome games on both sides. Because only thru conflict can we get stronger. And that applys for game consoles as well.
