In that screenshot comparison Videogameszone checked the graphics between the PS3 and Xbox 360 version of Borderlands.

If I had all the money in the world, the first thing I'd do is buy all PS3 owners a pair of glasses. Both versions are the same, except with a few online bugs on PS3 which are fixed. PC version looks best.

Yes I would wait for Eurogamer this site doing these comparisons is known to try to make the PS3 version of games seem on par. Thats the first thing I noticed was the camera angle aimed closer to the ground etc on the 360 version in these pics trying to expose the imperfections of the textures, they aimed the camera in the PS3 version further away making the textures more crisp and natural looking even though it made little difference they still tried.

The only thing I see different in this BS comparison is the PS3 version is missing textures on the ground etc.

That's why, despite using identical assets (textures, geometry, etc...) the PS3 version appears sharper and has a greater sense of depth.

This could be due to a number of reasons such as capture errors, intentional tampering (like IGN, Gametrailers, etc...), or simply the fact that they are taking advantage of the PS3's HDR rendering capability.

Whatever the reason, it's best to wait till we get an official breakdown from Digital Foundry.

Cell-shaded games tend to the look the exact same, even with lowered texture rezes, when compared to even the PC version.

Also, this review was complaining about the AA being equally bad on both systems. I have AAx24 forced on through my HD5870 running at 1680*1050 and the game STILL HAS HORRIBLE JAGGIES!

videos confirm that PS3 loads textures faster though. can anyone confirm if this still holds true when the game is saved to HDD on the 360???

I have it installed on my 360 and I noticed a pretty big difference. It goes for most games that use UE. Same thing with Mass Effect and Gears of War 2. The textures load a lot faster. Can't say if it's faster than the PS3 though.

Soda, fella, there's just nothing ion it at all. Onve it's installed on a 360 it pretty much negates any of this issue and ends up totally on a par with the PS3 version, imo. I've got the PS3 bversion and was playing the 360 version, installed, at a mates and we were looking as we'd been told there was a difference and neither of us could find anything-and not on;y on this front eiother-we couldn't split the two versions over anything visually.

I'm not shocked, mind, as it doesn't even look great on a PC and just isn't that demending a game for either console-prolly the cel shaded GFX I guess.

Honestly, though, can we just have comparisons done when there's something trong with one of the versions? 99% of the time they just find nothing, next to nothing and stuff you can't even see with the guman eye. DF use testing programs FFS! Who thinks that there's enough of a difference between two versions any time you need a computer to see the damned inequalities?

I've already seen a GT article saying the PS version is better and another elsewhere saying they're identical-next we'll have one with the 360 on top-because there's no real difference and people HAVE to write something but these things are getting SOOO dull and pointless.

I have it on the PS3 nephew has it on the Xbox Here is what I noticed

Xbox
Colors are a little brighter
Bloom effetcs are a little brighter

PS3
Seems to be sharper
Some diff textures on the ground in some spots
Loads textures much faster and loads the game faster over all

Thats my experience, eithier way its so close eithier system is fine, and the game rocks by the way

This game is great. I love the crazy fights where they mobs keep coming endlessly and I go down more times than an "adult film" actress. Dead! Second wind! Dead! Second wind!

This kind of fun works on both consoles.

Who cares, play the game and have some fun. Stop caring about which version has better looking rocks then the other. I would understand if it was a huge difference. But if you need a magnifying glass to see which version is better, well then you're a freaking "Fanboy" that misses the whole point of playing GAMES. Not everyone who compares is a fan boy; however there are those who own both systems and are curious which one to purchase and sometimes there are large differences in games so its worth noting and comparing, I certainly like to know if one version is gimped

2)IT DOESNT MATTER! for non cell shaded games....the ps3 came out 1 year later and cost 200+ more....it had *$%@*! better look superior.

I've been playing this as much as possible on my PS3 (I'm only a level 25 siren, if that indicates how little free time I have). This game is awesome. I'm really enjoying it. Get it regardless of your console.

All i noticed was that the shadows on the ps3 version appeared darker. It could just be a greater range in shadows but its doesnt makes the game really look better, just different.

Apart from that though the games both seem to look identical. im sure pixel counters will say otherwise but on an HDtv they'll look the same.
