Sky-Player-Xbox-hands5First thing's first: Sky Player on Xbox 360 is fast. Very fast. The interface is ultra-speedy, and will be instantly recognisable to anyone who's held a 360 joypad. Likewise, it'll be a dream for anyone already in possession of a Sky set-top box: the menus look familiar, while on-screen overlays and the EPG are almost identical."
A quirky look at the Sky sports options on Xbox 360 as part of the More than Games campaign.
UK has Sky and the US has ESPN 3....I'm loving it. M$ is branching out to make their product appeal to more and more people with apps like these. Too bad we don't have Verizon Fios in my area or I'd cancel cable all together.
On a side note....what is up with the Luche Libre in the sex swing?
This will be a popular inclusion for Xbox as I expect it suits the Xbox audience; majority western, large casual gaming audience, to push the cheeky presumption even more so, probably alpha male. So yea, Sports will be big.
Eurogamer writes: Tomorrow, 6th July, Sky will do away with its Sky Player and replace it with a new initiative called Sky Go.
This means Sky Player, currently available on the Xbox 360, will be no more.
In its place, Sky Go will offer Sky television through the Xbox 360. There will be a fancy new tile on the Xbox 360 dashboard and everything.
Microsoft confirmed to Eurogamer that users will see "very little change" when the switch is made, but did offer a number of points of clarification:
Megabits of Gaming takes at look at the current state of affairs with dashboard apps and whether or not they enhance our consoles.
Our games consoles have evolved. No longer content with spending their existence performing the task we all bought them for - running our video games - they wanted more.
I love having extra feaures like Netflix and ESPN, it adds value and doesn't take anything away, so whats not to love?
I don't use Facebook/Twitter but all other stuff they have brought on like Netflix and ESPN works great. If you have problems texting like when you use Messenger, then buy a text messaging pad that hooks onto the controller.
i like having a nice dashboard with some extra features. When im not playing game i leave the 360 dashboard open on my tv and fuck around with random features like last.fm.
