PSP Review: Motorstorm Arctic Edge | The Portable Gamer

TPG writes: "Motorstorm: Arctic Edge is simply fantastic. It's an extremely intense arcade racer, it has amazing presentation, online play, and it does justice to the PSP. Here is a game that is an example of how PSP games should be approached: with the handheld in mind. It takes into consideration the PSP's features (custom soundtracks, photo mode, online play) and puts the hardware to good use. If you are looking for an awesome arcade racer to play on the road, look no further than Motorstorm: Arctic Edge."

I'm gonna have to go get this one. Have it on my PSP Go. Race at all hours and in all environments!

apparently, it's kicking GT's buttocks.

Well, considering Gran Turismo lacks a career mode, it wouldn't be hard to beat it.

Arcade and simulator, they seem to compliment each other.

I have heard from actual GT psp owners that game is pretty good even w/o career mode. I dont like car sims and MotorStorm is a franchise I've always been interested in, I'm getting Artic Edge.

I thought there was some sort of Anchorage, AK tie-in here. i love that town.

And I recommend you guys get it. It feels like REAL Motorstorm, not just some scaled down version. The controls are the best I've seen on PSP, all racers should control this well. The presentation in menus is a little rough (maybe it's just my taste) and the music sucks (you can replace with your own tracks, so no big deal). Other then that - best racer on PSP. Although I should mention that I always prefer arcade to simulation.

Top 10 PlayStation Portable (PSP) Games

Carl Williams writes, "The PlayStation Portable was Sony’s first stand alone portable and boy was it a special platform. The power of this bad boy was about on par with the PlayStation 2 console, could play PSOne titles, had a large library (over 1,300 games worldwide), and it was one of the first portables to offer Internet surfing out of the box. Whew. That is a lot of games for fans to sift through, a lot are region specific releases (but the PSP is not region locked). Here are my Top 10 PlayStation Portable games – got a beef with one? Let me know in the comments!10) Mega Man Powered Up"

I'm making $86 an hour working from home. I was shocked when my neighbor told me she was averaging $95 but I see how it works now. I feel so much freedom now that I'm my own boss. This is what I do>> http://www.fl-y.com/3qx0

That red PSP always looked beast. xD Its games are the best for mobile entertainment. Something the Vita surely needs currently.

God of War Chains of Olympus over God of War Ghost of Sparter?

ehhhh

DJ-DK7863728d ago

Maybe I should re-play Ghost of Sparta...

Th3o3728d ago

Really great choices but I would've swapped out liberation with Disgaea or a persona game... PES 3 was amazing on vita...too bad there was no free roam:(

DJ-DK7863728d ago

Thanks! Maybe I'll look into having a round with those games, could change my mind. :)
