Eight Amazing Games that Prove Wii Isn't Dead

Wii is the punching bag of the games industry, regularly (though not undeservedly) saddled with the "kiddie crap" moniker and more associated with forgettable shovelware than legitimately good games. Those who own and actively play Wii obviously don't share this view, but it's almost impossible to read any piece of Wii news, be it feature, review or just straight reporting, without weeding out the "Wii sux who cares" crowd.

This point of view is not without its place, but suddenly there's an interesting twist: Wii is surprisingly strong right now, even without counting surefire Nintendo hits like New Super Mario Bros Wii.

Those plus Red Steel 2, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Monster Hunter Tri, Super Mario Galaxy 2, New Zelda, New Super Mario Wii, Metroid: The Other M, The Grinder, and still more to come.

Several of those games aren't even out yet, so how the hell can you call an uncompleted game you haven't played yet great or amazing, that sounds like a fool.

No game can be seriously considered an great/amazing game till you know how the f#ck it plays, till you get hands on it's just graphics. I thought you wii guys were champions of gameplay and hd gamers were all about the gfx.

As for the title i think it is aimed at ps3/360/ps2 owners who think the wii is all casual/party games.and has no real games that would interest them.

Just adding to the "reasons to hang on" category on page 2 alongside No More Heroes 2 and Lost in Shadow.

For games like Red Steel 2 and The Grinder, from what I've seen gameplay wise, it looks really fun. I've played the Japanese version of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom and I loved it, and the sequels like Monster Hunter 3 and No More Heroes 2 can't really disappoint for people who loved previous installments.

Also, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and New Zelda really can't fail...after all, they are Mario and Zelda. Metroid: Other M also has a high chance of being really fun considering it's Metroid and being made my Team Ninja.

Anticipated titles may not be proven to be good, but they can still be anticipated can't they?

2-"Those plus... Tatsunoko vs. Capcom... New Zelda"

I don't follow; the article mentioned both of those.

2.1-"No game can be seriously considered an great/amazing game till you know how the f#ck it plays, till you get hands on it's just graphics"

Uh, graphics, gameplay videos, hands-on impressions, previews, in some cases import reviews, the company behind the game, the resources being put in, previous iterations in the same series, and the knowledge of one's own gaming preferences.

Taken together, most people can come up with a fairly reasonable, though not entirely fool-proof, expectation for how they will receive the end result.

Nobody said the Wii was dead.

You can still be alive and not have a soul.

Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.

It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny

Armored Core VI?

Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.

Is something big coming soon to branch the story?

No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).

Strange headline, as I thought the star of the show was Super RType. I almost bought RType Dimensions EX this last month and was just thinking, man I wish we had the SNES one somewhere on Switch. That's where I got my start w the series and I was beyond excited to see it drop this week!
