New Sky Bundle revealed for Xbox 360

As well as revealing that Sky will release on Xbox 360 Dashboards on October 27th, we have just recieved new information regarding a new bundle.

The new bundle will include a wireless media remote, a 1 month subscription to Sky Player, and a 3 month Xbox LIVE Gold subscription. This will also be available from October 27. Please note there is no Xbox 360 console in this bundle.

This "bundle" is nothing more than the same media remote that came packed with the hddvd drive. You get that + a month of sky service and 3mo of gold access.

I dont know what the remote cost itself but in the US, 3mo of gold is less than $15.

What does sky cost per mo? Anyone, anyone...hello is this thing on?

sky is rediculously overpriced for what you get, a hand full of channels and a few on demand movies for about £35 per month. Not even in HD

Well i hate to say it but if the 360 will offer a full sky service to existing customers for free then i will get one. Cheap way of buying a another sky box.

They are about £100 used, so for the extra £50 i might aswell get a 360, and i get all the other benefits.

However if the service is the same as the Sky Anytime then theres no point, as i already have that on my Laptop...

I think if you have a sub and their max broadband package or multiroom it's essentially possible to use any xbox in the house as an on demand player & live channel streamer.

they show most of the top rated US shows and have most of the UK sports tied up. And they also have more film channels than anyone else in the UK

ive over 90 in my friends list and at least 50 are state side, I always see em at some point of the day as status "watching a TV show on netflix" and im like damn, I want that! But I guess its regional. Now us over in the UK will get Sky, which is much the same im guessing!

It's normally sub based, but this is on a monthly rolling contract like the service on their website.

And it's only for UK.

Thanks Thom never heard of sky here in the US. The submitted news doesnt mention much of anything in regards too 1) what sky is or 2) what region will it be sold too.

This news submission is fundamentally lacking info.

Bots are the biggest hypocrites. Back in 07 all the bots would say "PS3's just a movie player. I want a gaming console blah blah." 2 years later and Sony is destroying M$ in games and the bots are talking up Netflix, Facebook, Twitter and now Sky.

that's because in 07 the ps3 really WAS just a movie player. 360 fans can acknowledge the media features coming out now because it is adding to the fact the 360 primary goal was games first, media stuff second.

You can get Sky HD for 40 odd quid a month, I think you get about 36 HD channels plus all the other channels Sky has. Wish MS would get iplayer and 4oD on the 360 already.

I think they were going to put iplayer on there, but it seems like its not going to happen now. my guess is that MS wanted it to be exclusive to gold members only, but the BBC refused as they wouldnt want people to pay extra to use it. bet thats why they went with the PS3 instead. would be better to get an IP-TV freeview streaming service, like tvcatchup.com, that would be pretty cool

i wont use it since im not in UK but its truly great for sports owners with Xbox.

I will be busy playing UnCharted 2 , Forza 3 and MW2 (360) so i wont need this but is indeed GREAT ! =)

Lets hope NetFlix comes to Europe... Well i can get Zune HD Videos so im happy with that since im gonna rent 5-6 Movies when it launches =)

Hopefully Sky gets Big Deal on Xbox like NetFlix. Twitter and Facebook arent needed but Last.FM will be GREAT and i will give it a try and i hope that we can run the musics while playing because on Forza 3 that will be important :D

Yeah budget, there's A LOT of netflix streaming content. Lots of TV shows, anime, movies etc. New movies and current TV shows.

I have UPC and they are rolling out HD now. We will get Sky one at some point in HD.

I was looking forward to give it a go, but my xbox live membership runs out soon and i don't plan on renewing it because i simply don't use it.

But this is what i don't get.. you have to pay gold membership to use something you are already entitled to through your Sky subscription... stupid deal.
