Miyamoto has commented on his anticipated beliefs of the sales of New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
I can definitely see that happening, everyone loves 2D Mario. But get to work on Zelda Wii now!
of course it will, it's freaking Mario! and from what I am seeing the games looks so much fun, makes me wanna buy a Wii.
Totally agree, most of Ninty's first party games have really, really long legs.....
like every mario game sells for years to come i still have friends searching for a mario rpg
Halo = M$ cash cow Mario = Nintendo cash cow
Ratchet and Clank = Sony cash cow
Well not really...R&C are of the same formula and not stupid spin-off titles. Only has about $14 million sales and Sony never really goes crazy with advertisements. And Microsoft milking the Halo franchise and will probably continue to do so but milking games isn't always a bad thing, atleast (imo) the Halo games have been good so far.. But Nintendo are by far the worst..Just slap the name 'Mario' on: -Kart games -Basketball games -Tennis games -Olympic games -Fighting (Brawl) games -Party games -Golf games And loads of stupid spin-off titles! But even they do well..
Well all the Halo spin offs are good. And 80% of the Mario Spinoffs are good too (Kart, Party, Golf, Paper Mario is godly, hell even Tennis for the 64).
It might be true, unfortunately. But I hope it'll bomb.
Why exactly do you want it do bomb? *EDIT* Below - I understand that it's nice to see innovation, but the innovation is out there, it just isn't Super Mario Bros - we all have an expectation of what that game should be like and, from the little I've seen/heard about it, it delivers on classic old school gaming.
I don't want it to bomb. But It would be nice if people would support outside the box thinking for once.
no bizarre extra special toppings... Besides, it's not that they don't make games like SMB Galaxy And play the New SMB DS version... you'll see a whole lot of innovation in the title and it's just plain simple fun
"t might be true, unfortunately. But I hope it'll bomb. " Why dont you like good games?
Yeah it will sell a lot.
Will sell tons for sure because it's mario
He copied Ratchet and now he is copying LBP LOL
How exactly can you copy LBP? While I do love my copy of LBP, other than the user created stuff, it's platforming, which all are iterations on the original Super Mario Bros. Games.....
"How exactly can you copy LBP?" 4 players side scrolling platform game - cooperative - competitive. Note: this is the first Mario game which can be played by many players at same time. Guess where did they get that idea from, duh. Edit: kasasensei, did I ever say LBP was the first cooperative? And if you still can't see the similarity then you are the one who is rediculous, not me. Don't get me wrong the game might be fun to play. I just pointed out the obvious but if you still can't see it then so be it. "To the disagree persons, Mickey Mouse and Donald did coop 15 years ago... Learn your basics, young people. lol" Note: this is 4 Players Co-op we are talking about. Now who'ts laughing, old people...
LBP is not the first cooperative plateformer. To the disagree persons, Mickey Mouse and Donald did coop 15 years ago... Learn your basics, young people. lol @3sq "Note: this is 4 Players Co-op we are talking about." What a revolution! Not 2 but 4! What's the next revolution? 5players? lol
MARIO STOMPS on lbp, mario gameplay beats lbp gameplay,no comparison go ask media mole.yourself, they'll say mario is the king
"mario gameplay beats lbp gameplay" Hell yeah, for sure! LBP handling is so approximative.
"He copied Ratchet and now he is copying LBP " THIS IS WHAT FANBOYS ACTUALLY BELIEVE. "4 players side scrolling platform game - cooperative - competitive. Note: this is the first Mario game which can be played by many players at same time. " Uh, actually, there was a competitive mode on New Super Mario Bros DS where you could pick between 5 (looping) stages. You and your friend would race to see who could get a certain number of stars first. It was awesome.
He never copied Ratchet nor is he copying LBP, you idiot. You can't Honestly believe that LBP was the first 2d sidescroller or that ratchet was the first 3d platformer. Also you should be disgusted with yourself for accusing Miyamoto of doing such a thing, especially since he paved the way for both Ratchet and LBP.
Mario = Some Mexican that that jumped the fence and doesn't have any papers.
Mario is italian.
With all due respect, this game is pretty shallow in my opinion. While playing it at E3 I couldn't help but notice how barebones the game is. Little Big Planet revolutionized the genre with level creation and character editor tools. This game has nothing of the sort, and has very few options. I'd imagine it will sell well anyways, but why it will is beyond me.
Because it's fun? :3
Yeah but 90% of LBP users did not create anything interesting. And most of people who tried to, just did it for thoses stupids trophy. This Mario is all about coop and fun. That's all players need. :)
" Little Big Planet revolutionized the genre with level creation and character editor tools. This game has nothing of the sort, and has very few options" Owning LBP i can say that it plays nothing like a mario game. It just doesn't, LBP doesn't feel right as a run and jump platformer.
LBP is much slower. Mario is a twitchy pure reaction time challenge. LBP reminds me more of platformers meet Rube Goldberg. Homebrew and wii emulation will result in massive level creation (they have mario ai programming communities). Also as LBP shows us, user levels are good, but usually fail to reach the quality of a developer level. If you don't know why people want Mario, then you probably don't understand video games. Unlike Sonic Mario is consistent quality in fast, twitchy gameplay...LBP is nothing like the game.
lol miyamoto.. The guy who created wii music....
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. 'Nuff said.
Having played DDR to 10 foot songs and GHWT, let me say wii music destroys both in originality, creativity, and fun. 60 hours wii music to 40 hrs GHWT and I regret nothing (my musician friends like it more too)
when halo and mario games stop being really fun, then that is called milking
Agreed. Plus, before the DS NSMB, it was a looooooooooooooong time since Nintendo made a 2D/sidescrolling Mario. And this is the first one on a console in...well, a loooooooooooooong time. I wasn't too interested in this game before. But the more I read about it, the more I wanna play it.
Yea, I can't speak for halo as much as I haven't played halo wars or odst. But mario games are always high-quality games that a blast to play.
*sigh* never had a wii, but my god, if the people who own one are happy with it, even without most third party support, I applaud you.
I love this 2d style mario, it goes back to its original roote. @peoople who are saying this is copying LBP. as much as i love LBP i don't think its copying it. If i remember correctly when we started to see LBP it was being called "sony mario" and allot of us agreed to that. But when i compare them now, yes the similarities is the 4 player co-op. But i think its just a different feel for both game. Both games are great. I feel like that is a comparisonm between 2 different genre even though they look the same. Each game gives you a different feeling. What i like about LBP is that there is so much deph to what can be created in it, it has endless possiblities. I like mario because it wht i grew up to love as a gamingicon.
" But when i compare them now, yes the similarities is the 4 player co-op." But thats like saying LBP stole that concept from the N64 where 4 player mode was supported by many games, then the GCN and Xbox did the same thing. I dont see how 4 player co-up is stolen in anyway.
Are we done now?
well i never said it was stolen or anything like that. Stolen from another game is a stronge phrase if you think about it cause it could apply to all games. That "stolen" part is actually what i think is what innovation is.Mario wasn't the first, LBP wasn't the first, idk what was the first to feature 4 player co-op, but as soon as they added the abilitie to have 4 controller on one console, that is where it truly started. lol kind of off topic, but the PS3 supports 7 controller, i wonder if anygame will feature that? people think about split-screen, but havn't they heard of all on one screen for like those RTS games i believe its called? even LBP could have done 7 players(way to much though). Like i said as soon as the console began to have special number of controller that when it started. I mean people say they stole the idea of 4 player co-op. Wouldn't this apply to all 2 player co-op games? One started it, then another followed. Thats called inovation i believe
Dont get me wrong i didn't say you said it was stolen, all im saying is that you cant really claim someone got it from someone else while the concepts have been lying around for ages. Multiplayer has always been there, It was just a matter of "when", and it seems "when" is now. It was inevitable. Debugging games(and i dont mean programming-wise) takes allot of time, who knows perhaps they had the idea a long time ago and put it on hold until it felt "right" when the right mario-platformer came across.
oh by the way, I sold my Wii due to only 6 games only being worth a damn on the console... keep your shovelwear console to yourself. The novelty was gone after 2 hours with Zelda when I first got my Wii. The way to play your games is too exhausting and your good games aren't there enough to keep any interested in your console... simple as that!
Adam was reviewing a mario game, and its score was: "its a mario game, go out and buy it" XD "The way to play your games is too exhausting" someones out of shape.
pretty much a given.
