Digital Spy writes: "To many, the original Star Wars trilogy remains one of the greatest cinematic achievements of our time. Despite George Lucas's best attempts to dilute it with weaker prequel material, its legacy burns strong, inspiring countless imitators and some impressive licensed video games.
Last year's feature-length CGI effort Star Wars: The Clone Wars may not have been particularly well received, but its television follow-up fared better. With slick visuals and expansive source material to draw from, there was at least some potential for a tie-in game. Sadly, poor controls, awkward level design and unimaginative gameplay make Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Republic Heroes about as appealing as something a Wookie has coughed up."
