Hero of Sparta PSP Mini Review | The Portable Gamer

TPG writes: "When this game came out on the iPhone, it was hands down the best controlling pseudo 3D button masher on the platform. We hailed the graphics and fluidity of animation, as well as the surprisingly decent controls. Making the transition to the PSP, Hero of Sparta suffers from comparison as much as it was helped in comparison back then."

I have heard that the game looks like a smudgy piece of crap on the PSP go...

wondroushippo5717d ago

I figured this might look worse by comparison on a platform that had God of War.

And the iPhone to PSPGo floodgates open with numerous pieces of crap that will be floating downstream.

Yeah this is nothing compared to GOW. I just bought Vempire mini and its so fun and addictive, you should all check it out.

It's a nice game that should have stayed on the iPhone/iPod Touch.

$7 for this OR little Johnny can save up one more week from his paper route and get GoW:CoO. As for the game itself it is nifty and should have stayed on the iPhone/iPod Touch because in all reality it has no business on the PSP with GoW, FF and others that are available for slightly more.

Cost of a Coffee – Hero of Sparta Review | Codec Moments

Prof. Kelvin Harris writes: "Every day in the United Kingdom, we spend approximately 2.5 million pounds on coffee. I, like many others, think nothing of walking into a high street coffee shop and spending three pounds on my Massimo, Double Shot, Skinny Gingerbread Latte; so why do people baulk at the idea of paying that for a mobile game? I’m Professor Kelvin Harris, Codec Moments’ resident scientist. I am on a mission to document interesting games that cost less than your cappuccino, which might entertain you at home, on your way to work, or even during your coffee break. This week’s game for the ‘Cost of a Coffee’ is Gameloft’s Hero of Sparta which we played on the PS Vita in PS Minis format."

IGN: Hero of Sparta Review

IGN writes: "Hero of Sparta blew us away when it first appeared two years ago. Originally developed for the iPhone, it was one of the App Store's boldest and most visually striking 3D action games -- we liked it so much that it earned a 9.0 rating and an Editor's Choice Award. Then, spurred on by that success, Gameloft started shipping the game around for some encore appearances -- it came to the PSP the following year, then it hit the iPad a few months ago. Both of those ports were still impressive in their own way, but not as impactful as the original. And now, for its fourth appearance, the game has finally arrived on a Nintendo system. But though we can still remember how much we loved it back in 2008, it's looking a little road weary here in 2010".
