A game with a completely broken multiplayer does not deserve GotY. I was looking for to Gears 2 as much as anybody but the whole thing was a disappointment. The campaign had a lot of parts that dragged on WAAAAY to long! The underground part was painful. Not to mention the multiplayer is STILL broken! I can't believe how many reviewers gave it a 9. Completely broken multiplayer is something that's subjective -- it's objective. No reviewer can go "I really like how I can't play online" so it's should have been docked points, like 2! I remember how GameSpot waited to post their review until after KZ2 was publicly available so they could "Test out the multiplayer on the public servers" but they gave Gears 2 a 9 without doing that.

Reminds me of how in Gears 2 you can take 50 bullets to the head and when you finally go down you can lose enough blood to fill a swimming pool and still survive as long as a buddy comes over and taps on your shoulder.

At least Gears 2 had co-op to help you get through that dragged-on boring campaign. Fable II had co-op too but you couldn't even bring your own character to your friends world. You just took the form of some random jackass and tagged along with your friend or had an affair with his wife.

Why are we even having this conversation? Comparing Uncharted 2 with Gears 2 and Fable II is an insult to Naughty Dog.

peter moly said he didn't want two major players within one world. so player 2 plays the side kick. as for gears well it atleast has 2 player splitscreen coop unlike uc2 hell it have 4 p coop too unlike uc2's 3 player.

textures still go to gears over kz2,uc1/2 and mgs4!!

uc2 you take 5 head shots or more lol unless sniper. but thats true in gears. wanna talk about viseral guns/combat ? you get body parts in gears not uncharted. you got chainsawing, head stomping, beatdowns and human shields in gears uncharted gives you punch and kicks. wheres the flamethrower, mortars,bow andhammer of dawn type weapons, in uc2???

when the facts show playstation was never about just 1 game.

its clearly obvious playstation 3 isnt going anywhere and all of its games are selling to its install base in such a short amount of time since ps3s launch.

the media just wants to be right when fact of the matter is the fans have been right all along.

gears 3 releases with 3 disc. 1 disc is single player campaign, the second disc is multiplayer and the third disc is all the dlc you bought for gears 2 and a new mode called escort service. netflix has hancock buffering on your screen and ummm thats about it but you probably already knew this if you use twitter. facebook us and we will let you know when you can drop that battery operated controller and wave to us while playing whack a mole with natal.

The first Uncharted should have had alot more sales, and i'm hoping alot more of the first game will sell on the back on the second game.

YOU SHOULD PLAY THE FIRST BEFORE THE SECOND.

You get introduced to the characters in the first game, the shooting dynamics, cover,etc. It's an excellent adventure in it's own right.

how many awesomely epic games does the PS3 need before the internet and the menagerie of analysts get their heads out of their asses and realize that

A) Gamers just want good games. they have been getting them consistently on the PS3 since 2007.

B) Only Sony cares about how they're doing sales wise, and they are doing remarkably well (selling 10 million a year for 3 years straight now is quite impressive by anyone's standards).

is Uncharted 2 a "game changer?" like i care. i get to play it in a few short days, and add it to my rather sizable collection of kickass PS3 games with Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time following at the end of the month (i've had Demon's Souls for a while now, so that's already in the collection).

it's like people can't accept that Sony has managed to turn all that hatred around and is delivering on it's promises without having to nickel and dime the fanbase to do so. which is more than can be said for a lot of the competition out there.
