10 Reasons to Save Your Money and NOT Buy a PSP Go

Albotas.com breaks down some of the logistical reasons NOT to spend $250 on a PSP Go and why you're probably better off just heading to your nearest pawn shop and spending $60 ($190 price difference!) on a used PSP.

Whitefeather5736d ago

Please go away. If you don't like the Go that's fine. Stop pushing your opinions on others.

MeatAbstract5736d ago (Edited 5736d ago )

It is. For reason that you can get a PSP 3000 for much cheaper. I personally can't justify a £250 purchase for something I can't play my UMD's on and would have to buy the games from PSN store at a far more expensive price. I recently bought Monster Hunter Freedom Unite on the PSP for £15 on amazon. If downloaded it from the PS Store, it would of cost me £25.

There is no justification for having one or even buying one when theres a cheaper model on the market that works just as well.

Reibooi5736d ago

I love how people are complaining about things that would not work even if they are wanted.

Touchscreen? None of the other PSP's have that so seeing as this isn't the PSP 2 it makes no sense to do that.

No 2nd analog nub? You wanna know why? because the old PSP's don't have one and if a Dev takes advantage of that then old PSP users are screwed unless the devs come up with two completely different control methods which is stupid and they should not have to waste time doing so.

The mini's are a rip off? Pure opinion and if they really are what about the Iphone users hyping that platform as the next big thing in gaming?

All BS. If you don't own a PSP and have no UMD's then the go is a nice option however if you already have a PSP then the Go isn't for you. No one is forcing you to buy it.

BLuKhaos5736d ago

Yeah I agree.I have 13 PSone games that I bought off the PSN store and I would like to play the them while on the go.I never used the UMD drive back when I had a PSP-1000 so he lack of a UMD drive on the PSPGo won't affect me.I also prefer the design and shape of the PSP Go over the PSP Slim, it seems like it'll fit comfortably in my hands and in my pocket.Yeah it is a little expensive compared to the other PSP SKU's but it's not like Sony is dropping the 3000;you don't want to pay $250 for it then don't get it or wait until it drops in price.

heroicjanitor5736d ago (Edited 5736d ago )

More portable.
Bluetooth.
Save a game, turn off the psp and be back exactly where you were.
Don't need to carry games with you.
It just looks really good.

These are good reasons, bluetooth should add on $50 or so by itself since that is what it adds on in a laptop.

That is an artificially enhanced list too, his gripes were, games cost too much, need to rebuy old games/accessories, the price of the go is too high, and the screen is slightly smaller.

ULTIMATE_REVENGE5736d ago

If Sony release a UMD adapter to import the Game data over to the PSP Go then it would solve many problems.

Also if they revamp the design with a analogue thing

Apart from that everything else is okay

Oh wait, that $price$ HAS to reduce

ikkokucrisis5736d ago

...now they got scientists writing articles for them?

deadreckoning6665736d ago (Edited 5736d ago )

Hes not pushing his opinions on anyone. No one forced you to listen..or comment for that matter. BTW, most people believe it IS a waste of cash. Don't believe me, check the sales.

It would've been funnier if you said PSPNoGo or something witty. I thought trolls were suppose to have some kind of sharp humor embedded. You suck.

PSPFlop
PSPstop ?

eh i tried.

execution175736d ago

isn't a ripoff, its a good alternative, aka for me i'm a college student my bag is always full and don't really have any room for UMDs, so best route for me is digital

They encourage people to buy a cratched up, battery wasted, used up psp instead of a pspgo. thats shameful.

its not like people dont have any options.
the author should "save UP" and buy himself the hannah montana psp.
OMG LILAC WOW!

Aclay5736d ago (Edited 5736d ago )

I would buy a PSPGo, but there's just too many games coming out over the next couple of months of this year and during the first 2 Quarters of 2010 that I want, so I'll probably put my purchase on hold until maybe the end of next Summer.

Most people that already have a PSP probably won't be compelled to buy one, but I don't own a PSP and I'll be getting one eventually. The PSPGo may cost more, but I could see myself paying more for the Go than the Standard PSP simply because it's more portable.

All the PSPGo hate is a little crazy, especially since the Nintendo DSi is $169, and the Wii is now just $30 bucks more, yet I hear no one complaining about it's pricing... if the PSPGo is a so called "rip off", then so is the DSi.

SiteNblog Defender5736d ago

There is no feature(s) that justify the $80 price hike unless you like paying for a gimped library.

RAM MAGNUMS5736d ago

These guys could make sure that thier little small website grows into a giant orginization by expanding the videogames market but instead choose to seperate it and make it as small as thier penises.

a headline like this just makes those interested and those who have a psp more likly to never visit or buy anything on your website ever.
if i ran a business i wouldnt tell my customers to go to another store know what im saying.

unless of course, the author is directing potential customers and users to his pawn shop.

At least they can spell better than you. (This website even provides spell check and you fail to use it.)

Twisted metal 3 and 4 are unrated, not as good as the first two but still good
the 4 player split screen is awesome, used to play it on my PSX all the time
