IGN: Monster Mayhem: Build and Battle Review

IGN writes: "Monster Mayhem: Build and Battle seems like a fine concept, as creating your own creatures and then sending them into combat against one another sounds pretty cool. It's also got a budget-level price tag of under 20 bucks, which would seem to make it more attractive as a potential purchase as well. But don't bother. The gameplay here is so limited and the level of customization so frustratingly restricted that it's just not worth it even to try".

IGN: Monster Mayhem: Build and Battle Review

Monster Mayhem: Build and Battle turns in an experience on Wii that's a bit more robust and approachable than its DS edition, thanks to its fuller and more in-depth creature customization mode. After you're done playing mad scientist and crafting your own personal Frankenstein, though, it's a game that goes quickly downhill -- tedious exploration through environments that are too dark to be able to properly discern and random battles that you're sometimes forced to lose drain away any enjoyment you gained from making your own creature. So IGN would recommend staying well away from this Mayhem, and, if you're still wanting to make your own monsters, maybe revisit the Monster Lab instead.
