Gamervision reports: "One of the many innovations in NCSoft's Aion: Tower of Eternity is the ability to set up shop. Sure, it's been done before in different ways, but most other MMORPGs keep trading limited to Auction Houses and spamming the chat channels. In Aion, all an entrepreneur needs to do is hit "Y" and choose prices, dropping down a pole and marking themselves as a vendor. It's wonderfully simplistic, and should help keep Aion's in-game economy bustling. It also has a second function: tricking the game into thinking you're not idle.
NCSoft hopes to solve the lines by removing this abuse of their good nature. In a patch today, they've set a 30 minute marker on idle players, which should stop the huge amount of people using the shops as a way to avoid getting kicked offline.
They've also added another West Coast server to the game, which will be followed by another East Coast and European server. These additions should help the issue even more. We'll update if is any more info, but it looks like NCSoft might have found a way to help their MMO's growing pains. Good for them."

An overview of how to get started with leveling, making a proper build and earning Kinah in the MMORPG, Aion Online.
Aion brings a plethora of innovative features to the MMORPG table including flight combat, in-depth character creation and customization, and some of the most intense PvP you'll ever experience in an online world.
Hmmm, Interesting, I can see how that would become a problem; seems like a quick fix though. For people actually trying to sell items they'll be booted off in 30 minutes as well would be frustrating.
On a side note: "One of the many innovations" Definitely not innovative, was done in Ragnarok Online a long time ago. (Maybe a few others but Ragnarok was the only one I could think of right away)
this is quite stupid . Dont put shops and just do auction houses if you dont want afkers .
It's not like lifeless dude sitting in shop mode was ever needed to begin with ... people trades in private or in channels .
@Torkith
I guess they means it isnt that common in paid mmo , it usually is a staple of f2ps small fries .
What i found rather funny was the "one of the many innovations" . Aion while a nice game , barely have one of those innovations .
Flying , even in combat isnt new at all , while not widespread . Besides you cant really fly freely with so many restrictions and invisible walls .
The only thing maybe new would be the third ai controlled faction , but it hardly behaves as promised , and ends up just being more pve fodders .
Dont get me wrong , it's a very nice game , and it doesnt actually need to innovate to be one .It just rubs me the wrong way when they give unwarranted credits to game innovations .
stupidest thing I heard, kicking idle people trying to sell stuff lol glad FFXI didn't have crap like that or I would never sell anything
stupidest thing I've heard is people complaining all the time!!! The reason for 30 min timer is cus of the long queues. I'm glad they did it, Overtime I wouldnt be surprise they lift the timer after people are more widespread and/or wow players stop playing cus its to hard xD
