Today, in a move that might come as a surprise to Sonic fans, SEGA announced that it has signed a licensing agreement with Epic Games to incorporate the Unreal Engine 3 into several of its upcoming, unannounced games currently in development in North America.
"SEGA is pleased to arm our developers with the sophisticated tools contained in Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3," said Simon Jeffery from SEGA of America. "Its versatility and power will help SEGA create incredible gaming experiences."

Gary Green said: We have a juxtaposition of 2D and 3D visuals, flashy turn-based combat, quirky anime characters with cheeky dialogue with plenty of partial nudity; Yes, this is a Compile Heart JRPG. Whilst the engine is borrowed from Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2, Mugen Souls is more of a Disgaea spin-off. It’s not a strategy RPG as such, it merely sits within Disgaea’s ever-expanding universe (Multiverse? Netherverse? Your guess is as good as mine). You won’t find cameos though, since Mugen Souls is a franchise which aims to stand on its own two feet.
Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."
So is Sega making something with the UE3 for the Wii?
I see it listed under Wii on the IGN website.
...for Epic. More rehashing of the UE3, yet games are still priced with a premium.
I would think this would only be for Xbox 360 and PS3 games as they are the only 2 next gen systems for which the engine is designed for. Sega should not really need help with designing for the Wii since its not really any kind of a jump in tech like the 360 and PS3 are.
One thing for sure is any game they make using the engine should look good!
pal!
