Icrontic: Nvidia Claims AMD is Punishing Gamers. Sour Grapes Ensue

Really Nvidia? Really? Nvidia claims gamers are somehow being punished because of AMD's aggresive 5870 and DirectX 11 launch. Somehow, we doubt they would be making the same claim if they were first to silicon with DX11 parts...

Nvidia, what the hell are you doing?

primesuspect5327d ago

They're crying. When they have the upper hand, they sure do rub it in AMDs face.

We love the back and forth. In the end, it's great for consumers. I can't wait to see Intel get into the fray with Larrabee

darkequitus5327d ago (Edited 5327d ago )

Nvidia said unified shader architecture had no value when AMD released it first, intimating it was only relevant whrn they released their interpretation. I just do not understand their CEO sometimes.

Edit:

Like the writer said, I would be happy to bend over. At least in Jan, anyway. Hello Sailor!

The real killer5326d ago (Edited 5326d ago )

Nvidia never said that, it's just a lie by a journalist nothing more.

"Aren't they punishing PC gamers by pushing out the schedule of PC titles such as Dirt 2 in order to support DX11?

Proprietary standards punish gamers, not industry standards like DirectX11. Why is NVIDIA punishing gamers by putting in proprietary and closed standards like PhysX in games?"

This by AMD made me lol. And it's true. If Nvidia supported 10.1 we would have seen more 10.1 games. I don't think they're gonna be able to ignore this one however.

So according to Nvidia. Physx (which is proprietary) for console to pc ports that don't challenge today's hardware is good

yet

Directx 11 that's gonna be able to push today's pc to its limits is bad?

Nvidia seems to have traded their goose that lays golden eggs for physx and now it's biting them in the A$$.

@ The Real Killer

If Nvidia doesn't sue this guy in the next day or two, then you know he was tellin the truth.

when threatened, dont improve the product...just throw dirt at the competition.

All companies are hypocritical, it's *their job* to downplay the competition and put themselves in a favorable light, you can't blame them.

Kakkoii5325d ago

@PROFIT: All companies do what Nvidia has done. You have to do it to please investors. AMD would be doing the same thing if they were in this situation and have done it before.

And Microsoft came through in the end with Windows 7. They just throw dirt to give themselves enough time to improve.

Looks like somebodies crying because they're getting out-gamed :(. There there Nvidia, maybe you'll get to rip off some people in the future.

Sumadyan5326d ago

BS statement from them. If it was NVIDIA that released the next gen GPU you can bet yer but it would retail for around 700 instead of 380. NVIDIA gouges ppl like hell with their products.

Arnon5326d ago

Exactly... you can get a ATI Radeon HD 4890 1 GB GDDR5 memory for $250 or so, compared to the NVIDIA GTX 295 for like... $700.

PROFIT5326d ago

99.9% of the time, the 10% increase that you get from nvidias flagship card does not justify the pricetag when compared to ati.

dont get me wrong, ive been an nvidia fanboy all my life....i just call em how i see em

Thracks5326d ago

There's a little green company in Santa Clara, CA that has a case of the "HELP 40NM IS HARD AND OUR FLAGSHIP CARD IS 5 MONTHS LATE" sniffles.

JonnyBigBoss5326d ago

Wow, they shouldn't be talking like this. AMD is perfectly fine. Nvidia needs to shutty.
