TPG writes: "This homage is NOT Soul Calibur, and honestly, without a real gamepad it is impossible to recreate that gameplay experience. I have been vocal about my distaste for transparent joysticks glued over the game screen, and this game here is no different, but by including a swipe to play mechanic, you get a totally different experience. It doesn't work very well when the joystick overlay and enemy combatant are on top of each other, but with some tweaking by Gameloft this may become the preferred way to play. That being said, if you don't like virtual joystick games, this one won't win you over, but as implementations go, there are far worse. Because everything else is so well done, ultimately your enjoyment will come down to whether or not you like the controls, and since they are customizable, Gameloft has made it possible for almost everyone to find a scheme that works for them."

I was wondering if this was any good... but the pricetag turned me away
You know, it seems like all Gameloft is doing these days is publishing soundalikes and clones. I guess if they're good, they're good, but I'd rather see a publisher really aim for the stars with original ideas rather than just cloning popular ideas.
Does there get to be a point where an app is just too expensive to justify the purchase?
Those blades look really angry. Furious, even.
I like the game, it's not amazing, but it's fun. I just wish we'd get one of those hardware dock accessories that would give you a real analog pad. Gameloft has, by far, the best simulated analog pad so far but it still sucks.
