iPhone Review: Charmed | The Portable Gamer

TPG writes: "Like all the best puzzle games, Charmed is simple, fun, and addictive. Although my eyes did start to melt after playing for a long time, I can thoroughly recommend it as another solid and enjoyable game to add to your iPhone or iPod Touch. At $2.99, it represents good value, too – I've paid a lot more for a lot worse on XBLA or PSN. Currently on sale at $0.99, it's the kind of steal you'd normally need a gun and a mask to make. "

A fun match-3 game? Wow. Just, wow. Thought everyone was tired of these by this point.

bgrundman5703d ago

Can we make them just go away? Seriously, this has to stop.

bgrundman5703d ago

This sure looks like a pallet swap of bejewelled.

Iesus Christo, another one? Match 3? Ugh!

wait...really? it's good? wow. just...wow.

roblef5703d ago

Also, 1000 words? holy crap, man!

I know, I know! Believe me I considered the state of the Match 3 genre before I started work on Charmed, but don't be so quick to dismiss it! To be sure, it combines good ideas from a few other games, but it also adds in its own twists and integrates all the other ideas really well IMHO. It is far from a "palette swap" of Bejeweled. ;-)

If Charmed were just another match 3, I wouldn't have written it, and I doubt so much would have been written about it. Check out the reviews at theportablegamer.com and iphonefootprint.com too:

Also, Charmed Lite is free on the App Store and is waiting for you to try and come to your own decision.

Happy gaming!

I prefer play the original more than this

RE3 need another remake

DivineHand12548d ago

Why not port RE4 remake to meta quest 3?

Profchaos48d ago

Because the headset isn't capable of running it simply put it's not powerful enough.

Look at metro awakening on quest 3 that's pushing it to its extreme and it's quite far behind PC and PS for graphical capabilities.

Profchaos48d ago

Wow I thought they would abandon this as the sales for village and 4 were abysmal

JEECE48d ago

For whatever reason and despite all evidence to the contrary, their are some companies bent on convincing themselves and others that people want to play premium games on Apple devices.

VersusDMC48d ago

It's assumed apple is paying for the ports. Apple probably paid a lump sum for all the RE games so capcom is just finishing up the contract.

Or maybe Capcom sees this as port practice for the switch 2 or these ports are what the switch 2 versions will be?
