Engadget: Razer Naga MMO mouse (and Megasoma mat) unboxing and hands-on

Engadget: Razer's got a knack for cranking out the unusual, and from the First Edition Boomslang, the outfit has also had a thing for developing gaming mice that demanded respect. The recently announced Naga (which is now shipping out to customers, by the way) is one of the most bizarre mice yet, boasting no fewer than 12 buttons on the left side and a promise of making your MMO gaming a more enjoyable experience. Alongside the wired USB critter, Razer also introduced a patently gigantic gaming surface, the $49.99 Mesasoma. We were able to spend some time with each of these peripherals, so hop on down to the gallery for a closer look and on past the break for a few impressions.

That's a ridiculous spot for buttons on the side there. I don't understand how people can like a mouse with such a configuration. A mouse get's gripped with varying degrees of pressure depending on the situation, pressing those keys accidental would be very easy. And also wouldn't be too comfy on your fingers.

I stick with my nice classic Microsoft lazer mouse. Right/Left click, Middle click and scroll wheel. Ftw.

Every Microsoft mouse that I've ever owned (and I've owned many) feel cheap, and are exactly that; cheap.

I've had the Ikari, G7, G9 (currently), Razer Deathadder, a couple of Old School razers, Microsoft Sidewinder GEN1 &G2 (Wow these are crappy mouses).

Aftermarket mice do not even compare to manufacturer mice.

Still, this mouse does seem gimmicky. Strictly for the programmer or hardcore MMO people.

I wonder if the mat is better than the Razer Destructor or Steel Series mat. Right now I have the Razer Destructor and it's a pretty sweet mat.

Sure the Microsoft mouses might feel cheap because their so light and simple. But in reality they are highly reliable. I wouldn't be able to stand working in Photoshop/ZBrush/Maya using a mouse that had buttons on the side or in the direct path of where my fingers grip onto the mouse. These Microsoft laser mouses have all I need, have more than enough DPI, and because they are minimalistic in design, there's not really anything that can break on it. So they can easily last you for ages. Mines 8 years old and still going strong.

But yeah I can see it being good for purely MMO's users and people with 1 hand lol.

Capcom reveals its PC game sales overshadow console, and it's only growing

The earnings reports of Capcom's Fiscal year 2024 showcase the growth of PC over console, with 60% of game sales being made on the former.

What’s interesting is that, given how well their games sell, it’s very likely most of them fall into the 25/75 revenue split bracket. The larger ones, like Monster Hunter, are in the 20/80 bracket.

So even accounting for the vastly superior regional pricing on PC, I wouldn’t be surprised if revenue-wise from digital sales, both platforms are close, or if PC is ahead as well.
