Halo 3: ODST Gets A 360 Bundle

Not a Modern Warfare man? Maybe you're a Halo man. Or lady! If so, you might be interested in this Halo 3: ODST hardware bundle.

It contains a 120GB Xbox 360 Elite, controller (curiously, not an ODST controller), a copy of Halo 3: ODST, a copy of Halo 3 and access to the Halo: Reach beta.

It's due later this month, and so far, has only been announced for PAL territories, with prices ranging from €280 in continental Europe (USD$410) to 4,228 Rand in South Africa (USD$574).

Man that box looks so badass!!!

chidori6665336d ago (Edited 5336d ago )

epic win?

yep.

sarcasm/

lordkemp0075336d ago

You do realise you are meant to play the game, and not with the 'badass' box?

I suppose in your case you could amuse yourself by keeping your toys in it.

firezone5336d ago

with these bundles, wonder how much of an effect they will have on sales? Here goes the Halo Milking again...

GameOn5336d ago

Nothing wrong with milking a franchise as long as the fans want more.

Solidsnakex235336d ago

have you heard of Mario??? lol

IDetonation5336d ago

Talk about milking...
See Guitar Hero.

Guitar Hero
Guitar Hero II
Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock
Guitar Hero: World Tour
Guitar Hero 5
Guitar Hero: Rocks The 80's
Guitar Hero: Smash Hits
Guitar Hero: Aerosmith
Guitar Hero: Metallica
Guitar Hero: Van Halen
Guitar Hero: On Tour
Guitar Hero On Tour: Decades
Band Hero
DJ Hero

Jesus..
Just stop.

iChaos Amongus5336d ago (Edited 5336d ago )

This will be the 4th Halo FPS, in almost a Decade.

Halo(2001)
Halo 2(2004)
Halo 3(2007)
Halo ODST(2009)

Is that seriously considered milking, in any way, whatsoever? Or do PS3 fanboys just fear Halo, and say stupid things whenever they see a Halo article, knowing how big the games release will be?

Ghostflight5336d ago (Edited 5336d ago )

But...if you include the Halo Series spin of and upcoming prequel:
Halo (2001)
Halo 2 (2004)
Halo 3 (2007)
---------------MILKING and they're just getting started? (Maybe/not)
Halo Wars (2009)
Halo 3 ODST (2009)
Halo Reach (2010)

XboxUltimateAlliance5336d ago (Edited 5336d ago )

haha can't wait for ODST. The ODST and Modern Warfare 2 bundles will be HUGE this holiday season.

I am Legend5336d ago

They're milking Halo.

Pass me a cup of milk then and bring on the kick ass games.

Blaze9295336d ago

I must enjoy this milk becuase I don't give a damn how many times they release Halo, just keep bringing them on....as long as they arent RTSs, ulgh.

I am Legend5336d ago (Edited 5336d ago )

I never played a RTS game but DAMIT !!! Halo Wars was pretty good.

Watching the credits brought a big a** smile to my face.

When it said

"End transmission..."

You know it's just telling a kick a** chapter in the Halo Universe.

Not to mention the Spartan fight. A little taste of Halo Reach.

http://www.youtube.com/watc...

^^

Brings chills.

Godmars2905336d ago

With at least two more games announced atop the other. You have to admit that makes it milky.

And don't for get the XBL fan channel.

TheBand1t5336d ago

Y'know, while I stopped liking Halo after the first one, 'milking it' is stretching it a bit.

Ratchet and Clank could be classified as 'milked' if you wanna get technical. Still, people buy them because they're fun games.

darthv725336d ago (Edited 5336d ago )

I am not sure how many different bundle sku's sony has offered but I can bet it is FAR more than what MS has offered. I am surprised they arent re-releasing the halo console in this bundle instead of the elite.

To really be a halo based bundle it should include the halo themed 360 preloaded with halo stuff for the avatar as well as background theme. It should also include the halo wireless communicator headset, halo controller, halo odst and halo 3 games (maybe halo wars) and the std elite 120gb hdd. Maybe throw in a voucher to dl xbox original halo games from xbla.

All of that combined could be considered milking but it would be one hell of a milk-job worth getting.

I can think of a few bundles sony has tried. Ranging from movie based to game based. casino royal, spiderman3, taladega nights, motorstorm, metal gear 4, uncharted, need help figuring the rest out please.

IdleLeeSiuLung5335d ago

when you quickly release CRAPPY games for a quick buck, not when you release quality titles.

So far Halo to me has not been milked!

Shepherd 2145335d ago

MG, MG 2, MGS 1, MGS 2 Sons of Liberty, MGS Twin Snakes, MGS 2 Substance, MGS 3 Snake Eater, MGS 3 Subsistance, MGS4, MG Acid, MG Acid 2, MGS Portable Ops, MGS Touch, MGS 5 on PSP, and MGS Rising.

Halo has only made four games, with ODST and Reach on the way to make a grand, milking total of six. If Halo is milking it, MGS has already bought the farm.

vhero5335d ago (Edited 5335d ago )

This is to push up sales nothing more as people who buy a 360 will get a free copy of the game they will think. However MS can add that copy to the sales of the game thus upping there numbers. Typical MS tactics they did EXACTLY the same with Halo 3. That game sold about 1 million less than the numbers shown. If you don't believe me look in games shops 1 day after its released and see pre-owned section for a ton of pre-owned copys. Just like Halo 3 there will be a ton of them. Unless ofc MS puts that retail bundle label on the box and then check Ebay for a TON of them.

GameOn5336d ago

I think any halo bundle should come with 2 pads since halo is really a party game.

Also I think it's strange having Halo 3 + ODST packed in together which means you get 2 sets of the halo 3 online.

DelbertGrady5336d ago

They should have left out Halo 3 and lowered the price a bit. And thrown in the ODST controller of course.

FantasyStar5336d ago

Agreed, Halo is a party game and two-controllers being bundled would've sweetened the deal. That and a year of Live to boot.

Omega45336d ago

Finally MS is actually making bundles with good big name games, took them long enough. No more Kong Fu Panda or lego games.

GameOn5336d ago

They have had good bundles in the past. The Gears bundle for instance. Incidentally that is the one I got.

DarthTigra 5336d ago

They've had more then that they had the Forza 2 bundle the Halo 3/Fable 2 bundle and another one with good games I think.

Omega45336d ago

Yeah i know about them, i mean they never do bundles with their big games the day they release, they are always like months afterwards

Alcon Caper5336d ago

@Omega4
This is exactly what I was thinking. These crap games they were bundling up with the 360 were just dust collectors. This is a great move by MS. It will certainly increase the popularity of Live.

I mean, these are the two highest played online shooter franchises and have been for a while. To have them included with a new 360 model will round up those kiddies who have missed out all these years.

It will also definitely increase Live subscriptions, which is great for Live. More revenue for that service will hopefully result in more improvements to their online features, which are already really good so far.

Infinite is a dumpster fire and as much as I like ODST, in no universe it ranks above Halo 2. This list is trash.

Kaii107d ago

Just exclude Infinite>5>4

ChasterMies107d ago

Best to worst: Halo 3, Halo 2, Halo Reach, Halo CE, Halo 4, Halo ODST, Halo Infinite, Halo 5.
