UGO: Zune HD Review

Yes, it plays games.

Now that UGO got that out of the way, lets move on with just exactly what the Zune HD brings to the PMP battle, and what you should expect from it.

The Zune HD is the next-gen, touch-screen update to the Zune series of players, and takes full support of the brand new Zune 4.0 software. Microsoft started the Zune brand with the hopes of making it a multimedia stamp that crosses through all of their platforms, from audio, video, to games and devices. The Zune HD is the first device from them to really include full support towards that goal.

You'll Like It If:
* You have a need to upgrade your Zune player.
* You want an alternative to that whole Apple thing.
* You want all the bells and whistles with none of the phone.

You Won't Like It If:
* You've already spent thousands of dollars on your iTunes library.
* Your only computer is a Mac with no other OS on it.
* You hate music, movies, TV, and video games.

The thing is awesome and puts the iPod Touch to shame. That is, until Apple comes out with the next slightly upgraded iPod. The user interface is very slick and the touch screen works really well. Even the little keys on the pop-up keyboard work excellent. I am so glad I waited for this and didn't get the touch.

Edit: There must be more apps since the time of writing as I just downloaded some of them including, Texas Hold Em, Chess, Goo Splat, Space Battle 2, Shell Game of the Future, Sudoku, a Weather app, and a Calculator app.

Edit again: I just noticed that it uses the accelerometer to make things in the background move around to give it a 3D feel which is pretty slick. :) I LOVE THIS THING!
