Zune HD promo video offers first glimpse of gaming

It seems that reports from way back in January of this year on the Zune HD were true -- the upcoming handheld from Microsoft will in fact feature some form of handheld gaming when it releases on September 15. At least that's what we can glean from a recent advertisement for the OLED-laden iPod Touch competitor, hinting at a gaming feature (and showing a tiny snippet of a racing game).

What would anyone recommend the Zune HD or the Ipod Touch? Zune HD is $219 the 16GB model the 8Gb Ipod Touch is $191 either model for the size is fine.

On a price to performance value I think the zune has the ipod beat. However there's more user confidence in the touch and many people already have an understanding of itunes.

Id recommend the zune because it has HD video out and similar web abilities, is cheaper and comes with satellite radio. I also think the batter life is more impressive.

I checked on walamrt the ipod touch is cheaper by $28 dollars. But i do hate itunes tho i deal with it. Does the touch display HD video? The only thing else that is really stoping me from geting the Zune is idk if its gonna have decent support for apps/games, and if their gonna make like docking stations with the speakers like their is for the ipod`s.

Compare the features and price and you would be a fool to think the touch is a better deal. The only thing the touch has going for it is the app store. Other than that, the Zune HD is going to mop the floor with the touch.

Edit: It is not competing with the iPhone as it is not a phone...

yeah, you're right. i don't know the zune enough to make fair comparisons. just saying that the iTouch can do pretty much everything. from the 'normal' things like videos, music, pictures and games to fast and smooth internet, the app store and things like a level bar.

there are some important things missing though, like bluetooth and a radio. i'd say the zune comes in 2nd after the iTouch (IMO). they're both very good.
