PS3 Slim Japanese Launch Gives Sony Best PS3 Hardware Week Ever

Gamasutra writes: "The launch of the PlayStation 3 Slim has netted Sony its biggest sales week ever in Japan. The redesigned, price-reduced console sold 150,252 units in its first three days on sale, according to Enterbrain data translated by consumer weblog Kotaku."

"According to the report, this weekly sales figure surpasses any week the PS3 has ever seen since its November 2006 launch -- even despite supply constraints at retail."

"In its first two days, the console sold 88,000 units, but would have sold yet more if supply had been at maximum."

I think the either the first or second week of December will beat this if the rumor about GT5 release date is true.

If not, than FFXIII will do more than enough to drive sales

Karum3789d ago

Even if it isn't, there's always FF13 coming out over there on December 17th.

Well that is what I meant, sorry. Back to back releases of GT5 worldwide with FFXIII in Japan, that is huge.

250K is my bet per week.

thats if Sony can keep up demand. They better ship the right amount of PS3s if they want a god holiday

"In its first two days, the console sold 88,000 units, but would have sold yet more if supply had been at maximum." ---- pretty crazy stuff, lots of love for the slim!
