WoW versus Aion: Graphics comparison of the MMORPGs

PC Games Hardware compares the visual quality of Aion: The Tower of Eternity and World of Warcraft on six detail shots. Apparently the Cryengine 1 of Aion can beat the graphics of WoW. They also mention that Blizzard will introduce a graphics update with WoW: Cataclysm.

I thought aion looked better than this

There is NO visual comparison between WOW and this game. None at all. One is quite simply superior. I can play the game on Max settings and it looks like this:

From IGN, in case you think that was a bullshot:

Those "character" and "monster" shots in the article are indicative of how low the graphics sliders must have been tuned down for this comparison. In the actual game - running on moderate to high settings - characters have striations in their muscles, tattoos, and fully rendered manes and fur.

WOW doesn't look bad, though it certainly looks dated. Say what you will about Aion, but leave it's looks alone, the game is simply gorgeous.

Guild Wars kills both at lower system requirements lol.

/agree

moe845716d ago

It does... can look better. I have my settings at high/very high and it looks so much better than what's in the article.

**And wtf do people disagree with those asking questions? Clearly "disagree" answers what's being asked..**

Sprudling5716d ago (Edited 5716d ago )

I've seen better WoW-shots than those in the article. Just took a few myself. The graphics aren't great, but I still feel those in the article didn't do the game justice.

im in the open beta and to put it simply

It's Perfect World meets World of Warcraft. Not much originality to it really

it looks really nice though. I'm able to max it out completely 4xAA @ 100+ fps.

gamesmaster5716d ago

wow, im buying my self a new pc. what system are you running? cant make my mnd up whether to get a i7 or a Q core

Staircase5716d ago

The beta is very, very fun. I'm really excited for the full release.

Midgard2285716d ago

ugggh hate these things.

well ontopic and my true feeligs im having way more fun in aion then i ever did in wow, and wow has been out for six yrs and aion is in beta. maybe cuz its more interactive and theres no way u can run 5 accounts at same time and raid with all ur pc's alone like in wow since Aions combat is more involved.

but graphics wtf that guy showin the screenshots has his stuff on low cuz wtf lol

tho its nice that wow will finally get a graphical update. hopefully its a big graphical update like the first everquest did with shadows of lucrin expansion. not just o its smoother or better lighting.

besides doubt they will fix all your clones running around in wow.

even at low lvls in aion almost no one looks the same, the faces, sizes of and hair styles of characters vary so much.

i say to each his own really.

hey guys did u know u cud wear a helmet in aion and in options u can hide the helm so u still get the stat increase without covering ur face or hair? i just learned that lol

DirtyLary5716d ago

I only got through two of the private betas before I had enough of AION. Couldn't get pasted the anime look of the game, all the pastel colors and everyone wearing the same silly dresses. The game got incredible robotic and boring for me. I can't imagine going through with the Abyss Point grind. What a life waster.

moe845716d ago

To each their own, but just like every other mmo players start out wearing the same outfit depending on their class. Get a few levels in and start buying new gear. Get a few more, start seeing better drops and by level 10-13 you don't look like everyone else.
