Jasper Kashap writes: "Following the success of last years The Dark Knight, the Batman license was probably more of a burden for UK based developer Rocksteady Studios. Thankfully, instead of developing an inevitably rushed movie tie-in, Rocksteady have developed a game that is more spiritually linked to the DC Animated Universe rather than Nolan's darker franchise reboot.
Co-written by scribes from the animated series, the simple premise allows for a diverse and large range of Batman villains to be squeezed into the plot. Aided by one of the few non-canonical characters in the game, a bent guard, Joker manages to break free in Gotham City's Arkham Asylum and proceeds to run riot with his psychotic partner and ex-psychologist, Harley Quinn. Naturally, Batman takes it upon himself to restore order and kick some booty."
