Excerpt: "Speaking with the developers, they mentioned they were able to start running as soon as they got the license 18 months ago. Space combat was up and running in the Cryptic engine after just 4 weeks so they have had a lot of time to focus on that. STO is designed to be 60% in space and 40% planetside, offering a mix of ship to ship combat and away team plot development. Planets that I saw included new terrain, but also old familiars such as the Guardian of Forever."
