Demo impressions: Forza Motorsport II

You know you've got it bad when you dream about a game. Thankfully Jonathan M. Gitin from ars technica, subconscious was wrong, and the Forza Motorsport II demo did indeed appear on Xbox Live this morning for download. Since Jonathan woke up about as early as a 10-year-old on Christmas Day and there was no way he was going back to bed, he got a little face time with his most eagerly anticipated game of the last few years.

omansteveo4488d ago

Its cool dude...nice amount of cars for a demo also

SuperSaiyan44488d ago

I have a PS3 and GT:HD has 1 track and I think it was 12 cars? For a demo to have 1 track and 26 cars all I can say is WOW!

warfed4488d ago (Edited 4488d ago )

yeah i can see how you have a ps3 and gt:hd if you don't even know how many cars there are...

i can't believe i lost a bubble for this... wow some people are sensitive... i'm sorry i made you cry

Firewire4488d ago

Its a demo...

And he also said
"Graphically, it's a big step up. I don't have GT: HD on hand to make a direct comparison, but I'd probably give Sony's demo the edge in this regard".

But the game looks good!

GT:HD is not GT5.
GT:HD is basically GT4 in HD
when the real GT5 springs up compare that to Forza

They also had the luxury of putting their demo out AFTER the GTHD-demo, so understand that in knowing how many tracks and cars GT had, its easy to one-up em. Im sure the other way around, Polyphony would have done the same with their demo. Whatever.

You guys compare demos now. Judge final products. Fangirls are so stupid.

dissectionalrr4488d ago

GTHD could look absolutely photorealistic (as it nearly does) and it wouldn't matter at all. not only is it a racing game, hence high speeds and the inability to tell whats passing by you anyway, but also all suspension of disbelief is shattered the first time you hit a wall and bounce off.

"Since I woke up about as early as a 10-year-old on Christmas Day" then he says "But by my reckoning, that's already better than Gran Turismo: HD on the PS3"

clearly this guy is still sleeping to think forza is better then GT5

shotty4488d ago (Edited 4488d ago )

Come on man, GT 5 is not even out yet, and what he said was that there were 8 cars on track and 25 cars to choose from so from that point it already 1 UPed GTHD. If you read on he did give the graphics edge to GTHD

Im sure GT5 is going to be a great game, but forza and GT are 2 different types of games. I haven't played much GT before but it didn't go into the tiny detailed like forza did (car customization, and obsessed physics). None the less they are both fun and thats all that counts right.

No competition ! GTHD demo is the clear winner !

So heres what happened, I started off with the RSX type S, being used to PGR3 type arcade handling I took the first turn around 90 MPH, slide through the grass and hit the wall and broke off the rear bumper, side mirror and cracked the rear windshield. From there all hell broke lose and I drove around giving hell to the AI and seeing just how far I can break the cars.

Then I tried the SRT and totaled it beyond recognition, besides the circle headlights you couldnt tell what it was. Then I moved on to the 97' BMW M3 and took my first win. Then repeated wins with the 350Z fairlady and the Subara (lanser I think).

Moving on the the A class, I sucked bigtime, I always fly off into the gravel or grass and wreak my beautiful cars. R2 class Im good with though since those cars stick to the road like gum, so just easing off the gas is enough to get me through the corners and I easily took the win.

So thats my impression so far, didn't get to try out all the cars yet. Oh and that teletromy thing is cool, I don't get some of the stuff (body accelaration) but its cool watching it none the less.

Is the amount of G-Force that the driver is sustaining through turns, acceleration and breaking.
