I've got a laptop like that

AntMad5727d ago

Looking at it's specs this would hold up pretty well on most of todays games.

but gaming on a laptop..really? c'mon just go buy a PS3 for $299 will save you a lot!

not everyone wants to game on a console...

Hmm, play Call of Duty 4 at 600p on a PS3/360, or have a mobile power house computer than plays it at 1200p.

I'd take the 1200p.

Or you could wait 4 years and spend half what you paid for the machine to upgrade it to play it or you could buy a console and well leave it forever and it'll still play the games.

Also you used an example of COD 4, which was most likely developed on PC and ported to consoles(that's how it works) but why not compare a $1000 PC to $299 PS3 which play uncharted 2 or Killzone 2 or many future releases.

Can you take your console into the train and play games during travel? I doubt it. As a desktop replacement, gaming laptops suck, but if you really have to move around and want to play everywhere (you still need a power plug, though...such rendering power smokes any battery in minutes), they are just fine. Actually, there are no other options in this case, so they are not only just fine but the only solution.
