Xbox 360 game has a soul crushing ending and hillarious achievement

From Siliconera - "Usually, dating sims end with the protagonist winning a girl or guy. A happy ending with a dream date is the genre's reward. Dream C Club's courting process has players pay to spend time with virtual hostesses in hopes of winning their heart.

But, you can't win Amane! After spending over tens of thousands of virtual yen and dozens of hours trying to woo her a 2ch poster discovered Amane sacks the player in the friend zone by saying "You're my closest friend, aren't you?""

After beating the game and getting dumped you get 10 gamerscore points and the Dream is Over achievement.

ROD gamerscore points and the Dream is Over achievement.

Achievement Unlocked - Vegetable Lollipop

You are a sucker for buying this game and braindead for playing it to completion.

Bubble Buddy5345d ago

as John Lennon said; "What can I say, Dream is over."

IdleLeeSiuLung5345d ago

I don't play this type of game, but I remember the ending in Prince of Persia had a nice twisted twist. Most games have a generic ending that I rarely remember so these twists are awesome!!!

Redempteur5345d ago

Pedobear Approves Japanese Devs Keeping Stereotypes Alive

"Adhearing too closely to stereotypes isn't just politically incorrect, it's usually rude and just plain wrong. But lately, it seems like every time I defend America to the Japanese, my countrymen end up on TV doing something retarded. Then in the reverse, I defend soomething about Japan to my family, only for D3 Publisher to come along and add DLC to Dream Club called "Preschool Outfit." Yeah, a game in which players control a girl trying to sing and act sexy for businessmen has a DLC pack centered around making girls look like preschoolers. Thanks, D3, for always being the counterpoint to any progress we try and make here in Japan." -Game Revoltion expresses disgust at pedotrends.

It's not often you'll come across an article with the headline Pedobear Approves, leave that stuff for 4chan. I agree with this though, the Japanese do some really weird and creepy stuff.

Living here, it's sadly a process of "one step forward, two steps back" over and over again. I just...don't...get it.

If I were a cop, I'd rig up a secret camera to a game shop's cash register, and scanning the bar code of and Dream Club game would trigger it to take a shot of the customer and page me immediately. Then it'd be time to bust some balls.

Edit: This got a disagree? Who's the perv that clicks disagree to something like that?

mr_epsym_knird4562d ago (Edited 4562d ago )

Probably because watching porn doesn't mean you are gonna rape someone after seeing it. It doesn't mean those guys are gonna be doing those to girls out there. It's a fulfillment of their fantasies and it's better for that to stay that way in their videogames than to fulfill their fantasies through illegal means in reality.

Please also be aware that Japan has significantly less cases per capita of (reported) sexual abuse than Britain and the US (specially the US).

Yes, what they do might be disturbing to you or me, but they're not hurting anybody.

knifefight4561d ago

"Reported" being the operative word there bro ;)
Answer the question below please. I want to know what boundaries people have, if any, and where they draw the line, if anywhere.

imoutofthecontest4561d ago

@Qrphe
But let's try and have a good discussion here.

What would you say to the fact that Japan has far less of most other crimes per capita than the US and UK as well? Would you say it's because of video games? Grand Theft Auto is a lot less popular in JP than NA or EU, and yet there are far fewer cases of car theft or related vandalism per capita in Japan, so how strong is the connection your drawing?

IF it is strong, would you say that you do or don't support games that sexualize children in the US and UK? Do you think they would reduce the amount of sex crimes to the level of countries that do have such content in their video games? Would you say yes or no to that idea?

I think drugs should be legalized and taxed because it would perhaps reduce (eliminate?) the amount of drug-related violence, and I do not see drug crimes as being on the same level as theft and murder, though they are often treated the same. I am not sure of the case with video games though, I'd need to consider it more.

What are your thoughts?

@knife

Probably some pedophile :) Are you aware of how many sickos out here in the net?

Zero234562d ago

i dont have a problem with this because its NOT FUCKING REAL!

knifefight4561d ago (Edited 4561d ago )

Curious:
How would you feel about a game that had a PSN Trophy of XBox Achievement called "Double Down," that gave you a gold trophy and ton of points for crashing planes into New York's Twin Towers and causing them to collapse?

What about a World War II game with a DLC pack call "The Jewish Problem," which focused on the capture, torture, and mass murder of Jews. Oh you can do it to others, but only Jews count towards your score.

Would there be any problem there? Why or why not?

imoutofthecontest4561d ago

Even though that's simply asking an ethical question, I'm betting most people are going to be too afraid to answer it. Thay'll toot horns that dance around it (such as EveryDayGuy below), but I doubt you'll see any actual answers to that question in these comments.

knifefight4560d ago

Figured you wouldn't answer.
Like imout said, it's just a question, not even my own opinion on the matter. Man up and answer it. Stop running.

EverydayGuy4561d ago

It's like playing GTA to kill random people for fun, do it in the game to get the pleasure so you don't do it in real life. That's the way I see it.

A look at this week's gaming releases

It's the week of October 25th and online retailer Amazon.com shows 145 new video games and video game-related items coming out this week. While a good percentage of that 145 is the same title just on different platforms, that's still a pretty good amount of newness. GamerTVNetwork isn't going to go over each and every one of this week's new released but those that truly stand out will get at least a mention. Hopefully, this article can help you separate the signal from the noise so you don't get caught with a shovel in one hand and a tissue in the other. Consider this list to be a forecast much like the weather segment in your local televised newscast.

The More You Spend, The More Dream C Club Girls Reveal

Next month they're going to release a salacious mecha suit, devil outfit, bondage wear, and a sexy swimsuit.

What's interesting to note is the sexier outfits cost more REAL MONEY. The cheerleader uniform, sailor outfit, and lovely dog costume are 320 Microsoft Points ($4) a piece. The mecha outfit and demon bikini are 400 Microsoft Points ($5) while the bondage gear and sexy swimsuit cost 480 Microsoft Points ($6) each.

Basically, you're paying more money to reveal more virtual skin. A depressing thought considering the game's virtual hostess bar setting.
