Maybe in Nintendo circles. In proper PC circles, X-Com: Ufo defense, or, as it is also called, UFO: Enemy Unknown is considered the best game ever made (and rightfully so).

am i the only one that didn't enjoy this game? I thought it was boring, childish, repetitive and really not that funny.

How far have you played? Some of the later levels are pure genius, like Lungfish City, or the Milkman Neighbourhood.
