lol. Hey we got 12 million people to pay $15 per month for wow, let's make our next MMO free! Give me a break.

seeing how people get constantly conned in some f2p with cashshops , they could potentially make much more money that's why they'd seriously consider it .

Noway Kotick will allow anything free... You might be able to sign up for free, to play you will have to play through your noses.

evrfighter5350d ago

you think it'll be free?

There goes another player with better gear than you he bought at the cash shop.

Thousands of dollars later. "Sweet I've got the best gear in the game! why isn't anyone spankin it to me? Why is everyone huddled around that guy"

random guy: "Didn't you hear? They released a whole new tier of gear and weapons today!"

I hope it wont be true .. with the exception of the excellent Guild wars and a few obscure (and useless games) , f2p ends up costing more than subscriptions .

Most current f2p either try forcing your hands with paid items that enhance your game , with the game being painful or slow otherwise ... or gives you basic looking equipement while they gorgeous one are paid .

Of course it's cheap but accumulated and in the end , a small fraction of fanatics will spend a lot (with extreme case of idiocy going at hundreds of dollar some months) , a sizeable amount paying pretty much a bit more than subscriptions , and of course people not buying anything , but mostly those that wont be staying in the game .

I think of Blizzard in the same I do Bioware.....they're a company I have complete faith in because the Warcraft, Diablo, and Starcraft franchises are rock solid and they've never made a bad game as far as I'm concerned (that I've played anyway) so if there's a company that can do this, it's Blizzard

Look guys, the cash shop model might work for some games, but literally World of Warcraft is the most successful game model ever in the history of video games. You simply do not abandon something like that for the sake of trying something new.

Maybe something guild wars esque but thats it and i still doubt it
