The Shadow Complex boycott didn't work

A boycott of Epic's Xbox LIVE Arcade game Shadow Complex doesn't look like it worked.

Controversy arose when it was pointed out that the story of Epic Games' latest Xbox 360 video game, Shadow Complex, was based on a world co-created by Orson Scott Card.

Card is part of the National Organisation for Marriage: founded in 2007 to act as an organised opposion against same-sex marriage. Card has personally campaigned against gay marriage, which he believes would mark an end to democracy. He further argues that homosexuality is a dysfunction.

The problem is that by buying Shadow Complex, you'd be stuffing Card's pockets with money.

Whatever the case, it looks like the boycott didn't work.

You mean there was a hidden agenda to this game? An underlying sense that because it was based off a story co-written by a person who opposes human indifferences?

go figure. I thought it was a game to play and unlock achievements and rescue the fair maiden.

No hidden agenda. Just co-written by a homophobic bigot.

Quite a big sale but not entirely convinced all are decent deals. Glad to see the 360 gets a few more offers this week. I wish Screamride was on sale by itself!

Gears Ultimate Day 1 Edition? I can understand picking up day 1 physical editions at later dates, that were stuck in the retail channel for whatever reason. Late "day 1" digital sales make no sense at all though.

State of Decay on Xbone is great.

This is the 5th or 6th time they've had Battlefront on "sale" in the last few months
Still overpriced imo
