TeamXBox writes: "Due to some human idiocy, the term "Halo killer" is no longer the tactful way of talking about software that looks promising, and is in direct competition with the Xbox's legendary sci-fi FPS. Bungie beater? Eh. Master Chief masher? Weak sauce. It looks like the only thing to do with TimeGate's Section 8 is to call it what it is at this point: A contender."
SegmentNext writes: "Defunct developer TimeGate Studios is currently experiencing interest from numerous bidders on its intellectual property (IP). After its bankruptcy earlier this year, due to lawsuits and other bad press, the studio’s shooters are up for grabs."

Venturebeat.com: Publishers and developers are like soap-opera characters. One day they’re working together, then the next they’re plotting how to take each other down.
That’s how developer TimeGate, which produced the Xbox Live Arcade first-person shooter Section 8, ended up owing publisher SouthPeak Interactive $7.3 million in damages, as originally reported by Polygon. This comes after the latest court appeal in the long-running case went in favor of SouthPeak.
Awww, this is horrible. This is going to destroy them. Southpeak, this is not cool. You could of just told them to pay your lawyer fees and then just let them be. I know what company I will be boycotting in the future.
Both sides are idiots here. TimeGate isn't innocent, they are the ones that originally opened the lawsuit. Their publisher just said "yeah? Well take this" and won.
Honestly I'm normally on the developers side, but it was stupid to do that and greedy. Just say "we are done" and walk away, find someone else to publish. If they want the crappy Section 8 license, let them have it.
The law is always on the side of the guys with more money.
In this case, the publisher paid more so now the developers have to give up the franchise and go bankrupt. Justice isn't served.
Tried the demo today and I thought it was average, but it did have a great spawning system.
Cute spawning. But the game SUCKS! Stay away.
I think this game will get some good scores, i thought the multiplayer was awesome and a great team playing game. Plus it's just the demo. I used to play a lot of tribes back in the day and it reminds me a lot of that
being able to pick different classes every time you die and decide what pay load you take with you. or how about the jet pack that works just like tribes did, or the fact that you can get deployable inventory stations on the battle field, Or how about the bases that have gun turrets that can be destroyed and you have to have a repair gun to fix them . or the control points that give you better advantages. I could go on ....
Look i'm not saying it's a tribes clone, BUT it does have a feel of tribes for me if anyone played tribes check this game out you might like it
Worst game ever.
Section 8 is another example of a developer that was given time to work on one console and failed miserably.
Clunky running, eye sore graphics, and the respawning looked like that sky diving game I played on N64.
Say what you want but if you buy this game you'll end up like the people who try to find matches in Quake Wars on the 360.
