First Impressions: Wet | Games Are Evil

GrE says, "Up until now you probably heard the name Bethesda and thought of massive sandbox RPGs like Oblivion and Fallout 3. This game could not be any farther from those if it tried. Wet is a very action oriented game with loads of acrobatics and gun play. Think of it as a game based on a pulp action film written by Quentin Tarrentino and Directed by John Woo."

This game really looks like a misogynistic mess. But a bloody mess all the same.

roblef5772d ago

Yeah, totally does. Means it'll sell really well. ;)

talltony5772d ago

And I can confirm it is indeed awesome much better than stranglehold imo. The ending car chase was just epic and looked very well done. I might get this game seriously.

Ju5772d ago

It looks not too bad, but I have some beef with the controls. You're forced to use slide/jump shots otherwise your guns are just ineffective, and those controls are way to complicated for me to really enjoy them. Maybe after a while I might get used to it. But they require learning, IMO.

I'll definetly pick it up when its discounted. Its the closest ill ever come to playing a game based off Equilibrium :)

Whoa, this game sounds awesome. But from Bethesda? Didn't see that one coming!

CrAppleton5772d ago

They are not the developers, they are just publishing it. It has been bounced around to 3 different publishers since it was announced several years ago.

WiFi Pirate5772d ago

Last i saw i think it was developed by Altered Minds. i think.

roblef5772d ago

I like the sexual innuendo fo the title plus the cover art. w00t!

bgrundman5772d ago

yeah, sex is the only thing selling this game.

Warlord2k95772d ago

it reminded me of stranglehold for some reason

green-cigarettes 5772d ago

lol same here...
probably cuz the graphics are the same (which is not a good thing :S )

Nikkelz5772d ago

Thought I was the only one who remembered Trinity lol very underrated

Yui_Suzumiya383d ago

WET and Quantum Theory were both phenomenal

P_Bomb383d ago

I remember Stranglehold! One of the first DLC packs of its time. A bit expensive, but cheap by today’s standards.

Chocoburger383d ago

Another PS3 hidden gems list, and yet again Time Crisis 4 and Time Crisis Razin' Storm get snubbed. Such fun games, that shouldn't be forgotten. If only we got a home port of Time Crisis 5: Mastermind Edition.

-Foxtrot383d ago

WET is something I wish they'd remake, they had so many great ideas but not all of them were executed properly

It had a lot of potential

Also Wanted Weapons of Fate is another game that had some new fun gameplay ideas.

Looking Back to 2009 and WET

Nick writes: "WET was a pretty cool experimental project; a mixture of Stranglehold and Max Payne with a bullet-time mechanic and 70’s china-town movie style."

Blurs servers were the main issue but would love to see it return.

AZRoboto2893d ago

I'll point out that these games are all from the X360/PS3 era - they've already had HD releases when they first came out. Split/Second and Blur - with the crazy vehicle physics capable today, why would we not want sequels to them?

The other games, all a matter of opinion of course, but... thank you for your ads between every single game. /s

TheDCD2893d ago

Problem with sequels is that they aren't very likely. Activision dropped Blur like a bad habit, and Disney isn't doing games anymore. So I'll happily take the originals.

Remember Me
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

Miss_Weeboo2893d ago

Alan Wake
Lost Odyssey
Demon Souls

TheDCD2892d ago

As much as I'd kill for a Demon's Souls remake, isn't likely. We'll probably get Bloodborne 2 instead.

PhoenixUp2893d ago

Dafuq kinda title is that? These games were already released on HD consoles though...
