The Nintendo portable games machine "The Nintendo DS Lite" (16,800 Yen) has reached total sales of 10,000,000. This was made clear after the hardware sales ranking as of April 7th. This has been achieved in only 61 weeks, a record which has exceeded the one previously held by the Playstation 2, which took 131weeks to reach 10million sold.
As of right now, there are no monopolies in the games industry, and for the sake of the medium as a whole, they never should either.
And yet the biggest tech companies in America are essentially that. They buy up all the small comps only to kill them off and steal what they have, and if they can't buy em they bleed them to death.
Eventually they’ll realize the value is with the employee not the company. Buying an IP means nothing if the people who contributed are let go. They’ll get it one day.
Space opera fans deserve a chance to experience the vastness of Infinite Space, and Sega needs to make up for its mistake.
I still go back to Infinite Space from time to time. Probably the most underrated game I ever played.
Pac-Pix launched in 2005 as a Nintendo DS exclusive, and deserves to make a comeback on modern touchscreen devices.
