Microsoft, Sony slug it out over living-room "hub"

Gabriel Madway of Reuters writes:

"Microsoft Corp's Xbox 360 and Sony Corp's PlayStation 3 are locked in a battle to control entertainment in the living room beyond videogames, a competition that is only growing more intense with the increasing popularity of digital distribution.

The two rivals have tens of millions of users, making them well-placed to capitalize if a critical mass of consumers begins to move toward a single "digital hub" that offers a buffet of media, including movies, TV shows, music and games."

The story is too old to be commented.

That was all about the games! Because the owners only cared about games! LOL @ Watching movies on a console, lol @ web browsers, lol @ HOME who wants to play dress up? Too busy playing games!

Funny how things turn out.

Consoles are capable of doing a ton more than games. Glad it sunk into everyones head.

As long as consumer has free choice there is nothing to b**tch about.
If you don't like movies/music downloads then don't bother, just play your games.

I have both, but the PS3 takes the cake as a media hub.
