The Hunter3764d ago

Eric Lempel joins also GamesCom, isnt it? Then we can get a new FW announcement, must be a big one.. Come on lets do that 100 improvements idea of the official PS Forums, or at least the big ones: With new Avatars and Ingame Voice Chat..

This happens durning the sony conference. I wonder why.

WhittO3764d ago (Edited 3764d ago )

you know, Sony REALLY dont do themselves any favours with getting people hyped to the max lol (usually ending in disappointment), taking the PSN down right around the time the rumours of a new PSN is meant to be announced ?!!

If true though.... :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

The main things i think they need to fix are the PSN cards/comparing trophies (like have them speed it up or have the games load in an orderly fashion) and cross-game chat.

EDIT: Doesn't this mean PSN is down when the conference starts? - Thats a bit of a coincidence lol - PLEASE PLEASE BE EU VIDEO STORE!!!

Ninji3764d ago (Edited 3764d ago )

Sony's conference starts during that time. 9am PST would be 6pm in Germany and Sony's conference is either at 6 or 7pm (CEST).

Maddens Raiders3764d ago

a Gran Turismo space in the theatre. Am I wrong....has this always been there...? I mean it's playing the "PSN" video and nothing else but so is the PSP theatre....and I haven't seen that one [space] before either.

cmrbe3764d ago

The Sony conference
is at 6pm Tuesday evening in Germany.

According to the world clock converter this means it should start in

L.A. - 9am Tuesday morning.
N.Y. - 12Pm Noon
U.K - 5pm Tuesday evening.
Sydney - Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 2:00:00 AM.

Who knows, perhaps Sony put their conference for 3 hours to have enough time for this update. I think something big is happening for PSN tomrrow as well.

Blaze9293764d ago

Wait I thought we were gonna be able to watch the conference live from HOME? Dangit

GameGambits3764d ago

At the least I hope for voice chat between games.

At the most I hope for all PS3's being able to play PS2 games at last. :D

JL3764d ago

Actually that hype has nothing to do with Sony. It's all the fault of the media and fans. Because they take something like this (everytime) and blow it out of proportion acting like it will be the second coming, when nothing suggest that fact.

Lest we forget people, we do have a valid reason (actually CONFIRMED) for why this would be happening. They're unveiling the EU video store at their conference. So this could be as simple as that. But people insist upon building even more on that and tacking all kinds of other speculation just because they want more. Then want to gripe when they don't get what they wanted but was never said to be getting.

ThanatosDMC3764d ago

Did anybody else notice that our PSN store got even faster than before since... i dunno a day or two ago? Hmmm... something's coming!

Karum3764d ago

Why would you think we can watch it live in Home? They've not said it and we weren't able to get an E3 live stream because streaming is not yet possible in Home, at least not in the European version.

FamilyGuy3764d ago

I REEEEALLY should go to bed right now, the conference starts in 7hrs. I can't believe all these rumors will finally be settled (ah-gin!). It seemed like this day would never come and it's only 7hrs away, i cant friggin wait.

Though it could also mean a ton of negative twist on positive news or disappointment towards the things that sony never claimed they'd be doing yet were rumored to high h3ll since a week after E3 (week after E3 the price drop rumors started again).

It's so not a coincidence that PSN will be down at this exact time but what im REALLY interested in is the time in which it will be back up...

JL3764d ago (Edited 3764d ago )

Just a few hours to go. Can't wait. Would be awesome if we could watch it in Home, but yea it was never announced to be so.

I wonder what this could be hmmm. :D

Nitrowolf23764d ago

something has to be coming, with all the rumors going around and GC for sony tomorro.

-EvoAnubis-3764d ago

Which just so happens to be the exact timeframe during which the press conference is happening.

This seems a bit too coincidental to be a coincidence.

Nitrowolf23764d ago

yah, that got me a little excited seeing that, makes me think if sony preparing to launch something new. i guess this means no HOME streaming for the conference

-EvoAnubis-3764d ago

Yeah, I was kinda hoping for Home streaming as well since I missed the E3 event, but if they've got something even better in store, I'll take that.

WhittO3764d ago

just thought, is it just EU PSN down or like "World Wide" ?

Becasue if its just EU im betting its the video store.

-EvoAnubis-3764d ago

It seems to be worldwide, since the info that PSN will be down came from the US PlayStation site.
