Judging by the blue wrench in the last image, it looks like we will have some type of upgradeable OmniWrench this time around. Probably like the one in Up Your Arsenal, but I'm hoping for some more depth in terms of customizability.

Actually Insomniac has a really deep customization system planned for A Crack in Time:

They are just too easy and you have wayyy too many weapons. And its not like each weapon has unique properties; they pretty much kill the same enemies the same way.

I just hope this new game will be deeper, longer and harder (no pun intended).

@Spacesquirrel
More platforming would be nice too. I'd also love it if there were more engaging boss fights. And also more parts where you use the six axis to fly. I loved those a lot.

BTW Does anyone know if you play as Ratchet in this game? I think I read somewhere that you play as his ancestor or something. Not sure.

SpaceSquirrel5787d ago

Hopefully, there will be more platforming portions as well.

cmrbe5787d ago

Yes they should include a hard mode for gamers that like a bigger challenge but do rememeber that RC was made to be played by kids as well.

Bubble Buddy5787d ago

That's why I always preferred Jak more :P. Jak 2 was challenging but you felt so nice when you completed a mission. I'm also a huge Ratchet fan though and I still like Up Your Arsenal the best.

Lightsaber instead of your wrench = win.

RYNO5 anybody?

spunnups5787d ago

Isn't hard mode unlocked after you complete it on normal?

cmrbe5787d ago

even that hard mode feels like a normal level to me. Perhpas an extra extra hard mode.

whoelse5787d ago

Wow, at the time they looked like amazing graphics. Now, they look basic in comparison.

ReservoirDog3165787d ago (Edited 5787d ago )

@cmrbe and presto717

I read somewhere that they were putting a bunch of difficulty modes because a major complaint towards tools of destruction was the difficulty. From easy to really hard.

By the way, if you want tools of destruction to be harder, just don't upgrade the armor so often. That makes things really hard. Especially the ending stage.

cranium5787d ago

I beat the game without upgrading armor at all and I didn't buy any weapons until the flamethrower. So you can try doing things like that to challenge yourself a bit more. And it saves you a ton of bolts/raritanium :)

It could pass as a Disney Pixar film!

SpaceSquirrel5787d ago (Edited 5787d ago )

We need more colorful titles like Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time IMO. We have too much brown and gray in this generation so far.

LazyDevs5787d ago

It could pass for a pixar film if you drooled from the mouth and hit yourself in the chest with your hand.

cmrbe5787d ago

to improve from TOD graphically because it was already near toy story graphics. I love TOD, Still play it often.

beavis4play5787d ago

ToD was/is gorgeous. i still play it a couple times a week at least.

xg-ei8ht5787d ago

I really enjoyed the first one and the graphics were very nice first tiem around, but yes they've upgraded it bigtime.

Better lighting, shaders, and hopefully game will be harder, i actually want less weapons, with more punch when you get the big ones.

But i'm guessing it'll be an awesome game either way.

Cajun Chicken5787d ago

This and Uncharted are opposite sides of the spectrum, near perfection in cinematic realism, Uncharted 2. Playable Saturday morning cartoon crossed with Pixar, Ratchet and Clank CiT, ToD looked amazing.
