Guardian writes: "Shooting Nazis and/or mutants – and, indeed, mutant Nazis – has become a staple of the FPS. There's a reason for this. It's fun. Nazis, as even Quentin Tarantino has realised, are the perfect enemy: evil in obviously human form."
This review is complete BS. It has no evidence to support anything whatsoever. I think I will wait for IGN.
wtf are you talking about? No evidence to support what? their opinion on the game? wow.
Don't Blow Out Your Brains if the reviews start to get lower.
i'm just not impressed by Wolfenstein
I'm pretty impressed by Wolfenstein. Solid shooter, solid 8 in my books. oh, and look! I actually played it.
Bob Dole played the demo at Quakecon this year and was definitely impressed. Too bad he doesn't have a computer that can play it at the awesome level of graphical fidelity he played at Quakecon.
Is this a remake of the original or a new chapter like return to castle wolfenstein?
I think we must remember that Wolfenstein invented the whole WW2 shooter and Nazi zombie idea. It has the right to stick to it and not be called generic. I like the way that the review covers this topic. It's a good read.
Never heard of them. Wheres the real reviews?
It's a major newspaper publisher in the UK hence it is a brief review. I'd take their word over some of the BS sites we get posting reviews anyday.
The Guardian is a well established and respected "grown ups" news website, hence the reason you have never heard of them.
really bad graphics slow action frame rate drops some nice features like 0 gravity the weapons have the proper weight , also they "kick" nice very poor character design , detail nice exposions same old sh1t bottom line dont fvck1ng buy it....
the game is sh1t and i love wolsenstein this game makes halo 3 looks next gen....also halo3 is really fan to play, this is boooooooring
If you played the game on PC with full graphics all those con's you just listed get thrown out the window. This game looks absolutely gorgeous on a high end PC.
when will you guys ever learn? I dont know why people bother with these games on consoles, they are so much better on pc. Games like left 4 dead, team fortress 2, oblivion etc... are all just as pathetic as doom 64 on console.
hey kev, I have been playing shooters on the PC since umm, wolfenstein. And even back then I enjoyed Wolfenstein in the comfort of my living room on a 27 inch Trinitron even though I ha the bad ass PC version running on my bad ass 486DX 75mhz PC. Your point is taken, even though its as old as gaming time.
I dont understand the argument, its easy as pie to move a pc to the living room and hook it up to an hdtv. Support for the 360 controller if you want it. Ive been enjoying prototype on my pc hooked up to my 7.1 surround sound system and 42 inch 1080p tv, the 360 doesn't even support 1080p (up scaling isnt the same) for 99.9 percent of games. The only argument is the price argument, but I dont buy it... people still buy pcs anyway regardless if they own a console.
Return to Castle Wolfenstein was a sweet sweet game. I have high hopes for this one.
I have to say, the online part of it does not carry the enemy territory name, like it should imho, but it is a very decent class based online shooter. Clearly inspired by Return to castle wolfenstein's enemy territory, which must be said, is still played to this day on both the Xbox and PC.
@ Montrealien Have you sampled both the SP and MP?
yah, I played one round of both and the first chapter of the SP game, wish I had more time, hehe
The game wasn't developed by id...take that for what its worth. The next true id game is RAGE.
Hello, i just played the game and i have to say: not bad ;-) but there are tons of spoilers, e.g. the german money bills are not "Reichsmark", typical for the time, they are more recent bills from the "before Euro" era. Also, the so called "nazis" have helmets which have the "german flag" printed on it, colored red black yellow, really bad, the flag didnt exist in that time... and there's more... just some terrible background research... greetz dr. wolf
