"Last week we introduced you to Hive Rise, which plays a bit like 'Casual Command & Conquer' with quick maps supporting up to 1000 human players, downloadable replays, stat-tracking, and 12 modes of play.
Developer Vulcando Games just announced the client is now penguin powered, available for all you Linux geeks, and the system requirements seem pretty reasonable."
This game grows on you. A free real-time strategy game with microtransactions isn't usually very much fun, but for Hive Rise it works. Enlist some buddies and check it out; at free-to-play, the price is certainly right.
Vulcando Games has released the game client for their free-to-play strategy title Hive Rise, now available for download.

"After over 4 million matches in its beta phase, Hive Rise opens its gates to the public. And I do mean public! Billed as an RTS:MMOG (Real Time Strategy Massively Multiplayer Online Game. Phew!) Hive Rise plays like a fast-paced Command & Conquer with maps supporting up to 1000 human players, downloadable replays, stat-tracking, 12 modes of play, and a host of other features."
Ok Mac geeks, no complaining about no version for you. Just run boot camp!
Downloading right now on Ubuntu. Based on the screenshots, the game definitely looks pretty cool.
