Kotaku: Fallout 3 Mothership Zeta Micro-Review

Kotaku writes: "As the last of the planned Fallout 3 downloadable content, Mothership Zeta isn't quite the ending I had hoped for. As grand finale's go, it's got grand in spades, but is sorely lacking in the finale department. Don't get me wrong here...it's an excellent experience, but it just doesn't deliver the sense of closure I'm looking for in Fallout 3. At the end of your adventure you're back on the surface, a bit older, a bit wiser, a bit better armed, and wanting more. Bethesda has said that taking the level cap past the 30 established in Broken Steel would unbalance the game. Fair enough. If we can go no further, give us a grand finale.

Mother Zeta might not be an ending, but it's a roller coaster of a space adventure that's well worth the price of admission, especially if you hate power generators".

Top 10 Weirdest Pieces of DLC This Generation

GamingUnion.net: "Downloadable content has become a rather permanent fixture in this generation as every developer is trying their best to keep gamers interested in their title and make some cash along the way. There are many different ways to do this too, such as map packs, alternate costumes, to full-blown expansions."

That horse armor DLC always makes me laugh.

mephman4006d ago

It still amazes me how many people bought this.

Mouktouk4006d ago

I strongly disagree with the author regarding the Metal Gear Solid database.

Not only Metal Gear Solid series cutscenes are far from being a torture like he seems to say, but MGSDB isn't necessary to understand the MGS story.

Yes, there's plenty of text. Yes, it may be complicated for whoever isn't fond of Metal Gear Solid. But it's a good addition if you want to know more about the series background, context and story.

Metal Gear Solid Database is more like an application or an interactive website than an actual DLC.

This list makes me groan at the thought of next gen DLC.

admiralvic4006d ago

How is The Saboteur missing from this list? The MIdnight Show pretty much just added topless women...

Dark_Overlord4006d ago

Funny thing is I own the midnight show, however I'm unable to access it. EA shut the server pretty damn quick rendering the DLC useless :(

Could be the reason it's not present on this list as its unaccessable anymore.

Can I be bothered to go back to Fallout 3....

No

MasterD9194305d ago

And of course Skyrim's Dawngaurd DLC isn't in the mix...

TrendyGamers4304d ago

Most people have all this DLC already.

KingOfArcadia4304d ago

Dang, got excited there for a second. Then I realized that I've already played through all the FO3 add-ons, I just bought the Oblivion GOTY edition yesterday, and Dawnguard last week.

FIX YOUR GAME FIRST, IT'S BEEN ALMOST 2 YEARS!

MrDead4360d ago

I love these games but they do drive me insane, save often or you could lose a lot of hard work when it crashes and it always does.

Broken Steel is by far the most broken of the DLC when I'm in the main courtyard of the steel works the game almost stutters to a halt.

A good tip, if your game starts to slow bring up your pipboy for a few seconds and it seems to sort out the problem, works better in New Vegas.

Suddenbrain4360d ago

Maybe I'm not disappointed that this isn't available in the US then. I haven't played any of the DLC yet but just assumed bugs would have been worked out by now. That's pretty sad if it is still broken.

Megaton4360d ago

Heard the DLC is unplayable on PS3.

MrDead4360d ago (Edited 4360d ago )

Only had big problems with Broken Steel save and reload if you have issues.

NastyLeftHook04360d ago

i played it. how is playing it unplayable? makes no sense to me.

Tru_Blu4360d ago

I got 100% on FO3. Great game but the main game is buggy as hell and the DLC is 10 times worse.

Megaton4360d ago

Yeah, I got a plat in F3, but I got YLoD before the DLC came out. Heard it was way more unstable than the main game, which was pretty bad itself.

colossi164360d ago

I remembered Europe already had a discount on Fallout dlc shortly after ps plus started. I would've purchased all the dlc and get 100% of the trophies. Too bad.
