No, not really. This is my most wanted game after Modern Warfare and Forza actually. And I'm really looking forward to Halo: Reach...my most wanted game coming in the future, above anything else. Not everyone hates Halo just because it's so popular, lol.

xztence5792d ago

*sigh* full priced expansion packs/dlc...

iChaos Amongus5792d ago (Edited 5792d ago )

The fanboy insecurity on N4G is astounding. You can definitely tell who's scared and threatened. It's honestly embarassing.

poopsack5792d ago (Edited 5792d ago )

its funny cause the 1.1's question wasnt directed towards u and no ones actually answering u yet ur having an argument there. Id be embarrased also.

ukilnme5792d ago

@ iChaos Amongus

So true. Nothing scares them more than a Halo game on the way, well maybe actually socializing in real life with the opposite sex. Other than that nothing scares them more. Let the haters call it an expansion pack or whatever but I am looking forward to this game.

lloyd_sr15792d ago (Edited 5792d ago )

Lol. How many people play Call of Duty? Doesn't mean everyone likes it.

Oh. Look. 100k+ people playing WAW on PSN. I still think it's a crap game.

Bnet3435792d ago

iChaos pretty much summed it up. If you don't like Halo, why would you care if another one comes out? No one is pointing a gun to your head telling you to like it. If you don't like it, stay the hell away from any articles related to it and don't bother commenting. If you don't like Halo and you're in a Halo article crying about it you're just here to start something. Simple as that.

RememberThe3575792d ago

Anyway, I'll be getting this above MF2. This seems to go back to the Halo I loved in Halo:CE. Halo 2 killed the series for me. Halo 3 was OK but I have really high hopes for ODST. I'm most likely buys this, Uncharted 2, and Brutal Legend. Everything else I'm renting; Gotta penny pinch now days. :)

poopsack5792d ago

that enough awesome for quite a while.

Pistolero5792d ago

Oh damn that video got me so hyped....the gameplay bits between looked so good.

ukilnme5792d ago

If it isn't fear it must be gas.

ShabzS5791d ago

come on who is not excited about fire fight ...

ThatCanadianGuy5792d ago

Are you actually excited for this!?!

Boody-Bandit5792d ago (Edited 5792d ago )

ODST seems a little slim on content for full retail price.

2 new weapons - M7S Submachine Gun and the M6C/SOCOM
3 new maps
a visor
a separate campaign said to be 6 to 8 hours (<-this is an okay length if true)
new co operative mode (firefight)

I guess the disappointing part to me is it's only 3 new maps and 2 new weapons. That doesn't seem like enough to me. Am I the only one that honestly feels that way?

Also did they remove the ability of dual wielding weapons?

The_Beast5792d ago

was to be released like this with only few features, Everyone would hate it. but no this is halo its ok to bring a dlc in a 60$ price

DARK WITNESS5791d ago

@ fadic4, i think you got that the wrong way round...

if a different game released with even half its features and charged full price nobody would bat an eyelid. Because it's halo everyone is hating on it ( at least the ps3 fans are, which does not make sense cos you would think they would all be off playing killzone 2 or something.)

Boody-Bandit5791d ago (Edited 5791d ago )

Are you serious with your "(at least the ps3 fans are, which does not make sense cos you would think they would all be off playing killzone 2 or something.)"?

Then why are any of us here? Are you saying there are no games to keep you as a fan of what ever console you own busy enough not to post here?

I am a Halo fan. I'm not a huge fan like some people here but I have finished and completed all 3 Halo games and logged my share of hours online playing 2 and 3.

My concerns for this title are real, especially for full price.

ODST appears to me to be closer to Halo 2 then 3. Unless I am mistaken, after I posted last night I thought to myself are the shield and healing abilities, like dual wielding weapons, gone as well from this game? If they are this game will play more like Halo 2 then Halo 3 with 2 new weapons and 3 new maps.

I'm now even more concern whether this will appeal to me because I really like dual wielding weapons, the shields and healing/killing abilities.

Why can't someone give an honest opinion on gaming without most people getting so offended and immediately attack that the person not jumping up and down for joy with every titles to grace their favorite system is a troll, fanboy or just a hater?

Nobody, unless they are just plain ignorant, doubts this game will sell in huge numbers (it's Halo!) but I wonder what the general census will be from the average Halo fan about it's gameplay being more old school Halo then new (well 07).

JonnyBadfinger5791d ago

Im in the same situation as you, so dont worry

As to my knowledge, shields are gone, dual wielding (may only be possible with pistols) is gone, health remains the same (like CoD replenishes over time). From what ive seen in the videos you can have double the ammount of grenades, which is a plus.
But you gotta remember they arent spartans so they will move slower, wont be able to jump as high, less health, and wont be able to inflict as much damage in a melee as a spartan.

Whether the games worth the $99 AUD is still a mystery, but its from bungie so ive already pre-ordered it. As long as its a Bungie Halo then i will always day one purchase it.

Whats bugs me is sony fans claiming Halo is gay and halo is sh*t, just dont understand why its so good and havent even played it. What they need to realize is that there are things that happen in Halo that can never happen in another game, some situation you find yourself in during a multiplayer are just freaking bizarre.
You gotta be there to understand it.

Well you appear to be more of a fan of the series and thought more about what ODST will offer than I. Do you think a slower moving, less exaggerated jump and melee Halo game will appeal more to the Halo 3 fan (newer generation of Halo fan) or more to Halo 2 fan?

I am spoiled by the run button on most shooters today. It helps get from cover to cover faster and be a harder target for skilled snipers. The game moving slower concerns me a bit but the jumping and melee attack being less effective, for me, is a bonus.

I guess that is why it is labeled as more tactical. It will definitely have a different feel to it than what some Halo fans are use to.

Edit: I () this (newer generation of Halo fan) because a lot of people I know that were into Halo 2 weren't as big a fan of Halo 3 so I am assuming Halo 3 has a lot of new fans.

I agree that people that have not played Halo really should if they are a shooter fan at all. It has great immersion, hit detection and it's just a flat out fun game.

The thing I think that doesn't appeal to me (a lot of my casual shooters fan friends are like this as well) about Halo is the space theme. I have always been a shooter fan since Doom but I had a hard time sticking to space shooters like UT, Tribes, Halo etc.

I am more into Ghost Recon, Rainbow, COD, Battlefield, etc style shooters. There is no denying the fun that can be had playing a Halo title though. The only thing that doesn't appeal to me about Halo games is the Sword and Hammer. Are they removed from ODST as well?

DARK WITNESS5791d ago (Edited 5791d ago )

@ Brutallyhonest

ok, first off i was not having a go at you, my comment was obviously directed at the comment above mine.

I see your point and get what your saying. I don't usually go off on comments like that, but the amount of BS being thrown out of some people is enough to drive someone up the wall. Sure two wrongs don't make a write, but i am just a gamer and i have my limits.

for the record, i have both a ps3 and 360 and i have never hidden the fact that i like my 360 more. I love halo, always have. Halo CE is still my favorite shooter of all time. Halo 2 and 3 were good in different ways, but i didn't like the single player as much in both games.

you can check up on my comments, its not a usual habbit of mine.. but ya i can throw up some stupid comments just like most of the other guys here and lately there have been a lot of them, so its kind of got on my nerves a bit.

I admire the fact that you are actually having a serious discussion about it and would usually join in, but reading half the other crap comments got the better of me.

oh and by the way, i am at work which is why i am on here now. when i am at home i usually am gaming.

Pffffhahahahahah !

That is hilarious! This is the game i've been hearing the bots brag about?

borgome5791d ago

Are you actually Canadian or are you French, because if you are French that doesn't count.

Shadow0175792d ago

Look's decent doesn't look like it will come close to halo 3.

table5792d ago

you're kidding right? Halo3 was overrated crap. This looks better but I hope reviewers critique the game properly and don't give it a free pass.

Trollimite5792d ago

i dont want halo to get crash bandacoot syndrome!

when crash 1 first came out it was the reason to own a ps1, now its a shadow of its former self! mind over mutan was terrible, and i wouldnt want to live in a world where halo isnt good!

poopsack5792d ago

if the titles are good why not? Resistance has had two (awesome) titles this generation within a small timeframe, if Bungie is able to do this then there should be no problem, although I think reach shouldnt be released next year, they should give it more dev time.

commodore645792d ago (Edited 5792d ago )

"NO MOAR HALO"?

bu bu it seems to be ok for FF13 and GT5?

is this what they call irony?

XBLA Classic 'A World of Keflings' Is Coming to Steam, and There's a Demo

"Back in the innocent days of 2010, A World of Keflings was a fairly popular successor to A Kingdom for Keflings. I even wrote about it a few times in 2012! But the world of humans moved on, and NinjaBee's city-building/adventure game was last seen on the ill-fated Wii U in 2014. Fast-forward to the dark year of 2025, and not only is A World of Keflings coming to Steam, but there's already a playable demo! Perhaps the cheerful, no pressure gameplay that the Keflings bring is just what we need nowadays," says Co-Optimus.

It Has Been Over 2,500 Days Since The Elder Scrolls 6 Was Revealed

It will come out in another 1000-2000 days or so. I’d rather they remake Morrowind. After they added quest arrows, sprint button, making stats lesser and the big nerfs to spells Elder Scrolls has been too simplified. They could change that with ES6 but I don’t have much faith in modern Bethesda. I would love to be wrong

Dear God it's been 4 years since infinite and no official update on anything lol.

Tacoboto4d ago

No official update on anything?

They replaced studio leadership
They changed the studio name
They announced the change to UE5
... all while supporting Infinite

The support to Infinite isn't what it originally should have been but they've still been providing tons of official updates over the years, and as recently as two months ago added a brand new weapon.

GamerRN3d ago

I think remaking Halo Combat Evolved, and going to 2 and 3 again, will help give the studio an idea of how to make a Halo game feel like Halo again

Tacoboto3d ago

Infinite did feel like Halo, that's not what the complaints were...

The complaints were almost literally everything else. Monetization, netcode and desync, the campaign structure, story, and single biome, the weaker-than-expected post-launch content.

InUrFoxHole3d ago

Gotta agree. Infinite felt like halo.

Profchaos4d ago

Dev times in modern days 4 years of silence isn't unheard of when things are running smoothly.

And around 6 months ago 343 did show a tech demo of ue5 using halo assets so it's not radio silence.

Given all the shake ups i am more surprised we're getting anything next year at all.

RaidenBlack4d ago (Edited 4d ago )

They coulda started with Halo 3 remake ... I know Halo CE remaster was not proper with the art style but still, remaking after a remaster seems dull, when Halo 3 and Reach have started to show some age.

PhillyDonJawn4d ago

Yeah I hate they used Halo reach artstyle. Hope this remake feel authentic yet fresh

--Onilink--4d ago

Probably the simplest to work around with. They are reportedly doing it in UE5, so its just as much an Anniversary thing, as its probably the studio getting familiar and setting up their tools and processes in the engine with an actual game, to facilitate the development of the next Halo

Profchaos4d ago

I'm guessing combat evolved has a smaller scope in general the later half of the game features a ton of backtracking and reused assets making it a easier game to remake on a deadline

Its also a better choice if this is the first game to be multiplatform mind you I think it's pretty much a given that anyone with a passing curiosity has played this by now in some way be it pc or brought a used console for a few bucks

darthv724d ago

This will likely come to PS5 at the same time. 25 years of XB.... shared with PS.

Obscure_Observer3d ago

It´s gonna be among best sellers on PS Store next year regardless.

raWfodog3d ago (Edited 3d ago )

I would love to see Lost Odyssey come over to PS5. I would definitely buy that again. That was the first game that I played on my 360. Loved the story and battle system. One of the best JRPGs of all time in my opinion.
