The zombie apocalypse isn't where one expects to find product placement, so it was a little surprising to see Rochelle, one of the new Survivors in Left 4 Dead 2, sporting a pink Depeche Mode t-shirt.
Never heard of this band, they do look a bit pretty boyish, so I can already tell it aint my type of music, if it aint metal it aint hardcore enough.
I thought they should have been in Guitar Hero or Rockband, not Left 4 Dead!!!!
They did the song 'Personal Jesus' which Johnny Cash covered along with Nice Inch Nail's 'Hurt' as his last single.
One zombie if it appears in Left 4 Dead 2 ... I would love to kill that one disgusting zombie over n over n over is "Simon Cowell". Listen to my cries and place him in the game ... Simon Cowell and my Character's Bat ... gonna have good bashing time.
Who doesn't know "Enjoy the Silence" http://www.youtube.com/watc...
Your comment "if it ain't metal it ain't hardcore enough" made me chuckle.
This band kind of fits the console wars, eh? So were different colours And were different creeds And different people Have different needs Its obvious you hate me Though Ive done nothing wrong Ive never even met you So what could I have done I cant understand What makes a man Hate another man Help me understand People are people So why should it be You and I should get along so awfully People are people So why should it be You and I should get along so awfully Help me understand Help me understand
dunno why they would appear in this game.. they not the right image? if it's just a t-shirt ok.. mind you they do some good industrial style tracks.. so music could fit... or maybe they appear as infected.. and we can shoot them.. lol
Obviously Valve picked them because their music calms and then destroys zombies
I hate Depeche Mode, they think they are way beeter then they are. why couldnt valve get any better bands. I dont think Kadgagoogoo are busy lol
Kadgagoogoo? With a name like that I don't think so lol jk. It's a zombie FPS lol, who cares what kind of music you put in it, as long as it's rock it's all well and good, no need to put a lot of money into what artist to put into the game, whatever is cheap, which tends to be this band at the moment.
It's an extremely odd choice for sure...but I don't mind Depeche Mode.
This is why Left on Shelf 2 is gonna Suck
Ignore him; PS3 troll. Looking for reasons to put down Xbox games and failing.
This is about Left 4 Dead 2 not Left on Shelf 2. I'm looking forward to both though.
Shame Valve suck, there engine is loking far too dated.
graphics aren't everything. plus, the graphics aren't even that bad.
@The Meerkat - Good stuff. Had no idea Mike from LP had remixed it. Thanks for that!
Depeche Mode vs. Erasure vs. Kraftwerk. Let the games begin...
Oh dear...erm, I want to say Depeche Mode but I can't bring myself to do so. They have all had their moments. But for this L4D stunt, I reckon Depeche Mode get my vote. =p
Don't forget New Order. But when it comes to killing (progressive)zombies, I'd probably go with Nine Inch Nails, Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Prodigy, and Lords of Acid.
New Order! How dare you sir, even put them into the same league as The Mode! I should report you to the authorities! Ha ha Props to Lords Of Acid though, they kick arse.
'Your own personal Jesus' 'someone to hear your prairs when the zombies are ripping out your hairs'? Sorry :p
Ok, I am going to comment from a slightly biased point of view, as I am a massive fan of both Valve and The Mode. I think it is more likely to be hero worship, as Gabe and co are, I believe in their 40's, so Depeche would have been one of the bands they would have been listening to in those days. Also, if it was product placement, they would have used artwork and photos from their new album. The picture on Rochell's shirt is from a photoshoot taken from their 2005 album, 'Playing The Angel' (which is one of their best I might add), and not from the recently released 'Sounds of the Universe'. Seriously, if any of you want to do yourselves a favour, listen to their album 'Violator'. It is the best album ever written (in my opinion of course).
Violator is one of the best albums ever produced. I mean that from beginning to end, top notch, and irreplaceable. Bubbles to you!
