WD launches 1TB 2.5-inch drive

WD has started shipping the world's first 1TB 2.5-inch drive, part of the WD Scorpio Blue series, as well as a 750GB drive.

In spite of an industry leading 333MB per platter, the new drives still end up a bit chubby, and both are 12.5mm thick, making them unsuitable for most notebook designs. The pricing will also drive away most punters, as the 1TB drive costs $249 and the 750GB model will set you back $189.

Looks like some people might try and put one of these in a PS3.

Do you all think this drive would fit? If so I'm sure someone would be willing to pay to upgrade a PS3. Another thing, would the FAT32 affect the format capacity and what would it format to?

I assume about No and 800GB-900GB
