Though he eventually became one of the most iconic pieces of the Fallout universe, Dogmeat almost never made it into the game at all.
Dogmeat was disappointing to me because he literally died in seconds. He died WAY too easy.
Unfortunately for me, I got Dogmeat killed very early in the game. He was cool for the few hours i had him though.
dogmeat died on me so quick.
Yeah, dogmeat was a dumbass. He was pretty useless to me. I made the mistake of using some of my stimpaks on him. I quickly realized he wasn't worth much to me so I told him to say and never went back for him. Sorry buddy, i work best alone.
Dogmeat was only good for getting weapons that were stashed behind locked doors that were past my skill set. Other than that he ran straight towards enemies that were well beyond his level and got near death all the time. I spent so many stimpaks on him that I just ended up sending him to the house and eventually he wasn't around anymore... Dogmeat in the first Fallout was actually helpful in fights though.
If you go to the scrapyard and don't meet him, then he starts appearing in random places. I don't know why they called him iconic within the game world. Most people play through the game without seeing him.
Dogmeat was a POS. Fawks is the man... err... super mutant.
I've had the game since launch, and still haven't found Dogmeat. Of course, it probably doesn't help that the game consistently crashes after thirty minutes.
I found him at the "scrapyard." Not sure if everyone finds him there though.
He's always at Scrapyard.
i found him at bethesda ruins
As soon as I find him I just send him to Vault 101 for the rest of the game.
Uhm wut? I bet you 50-75% of everyone who beat this game never found/used dogmeat. I know I didnt even get him until my second playthrough, its not like hes at all connected to the main quest.
i've found him 20 or so hrs into the game, was kinda lame though because he died 20 mins after i found him
Yeah my dogmeat didn't last long either. He got eaten by a Yao Guai lol
Well, when I get the GOTY edition for PS3, I'll look for Dogmeat
I found him my 3rd time through. I used him to find the remaining Alien Power Cells for over 130+, for use with my Alien Blaster (reverse pick pocketed/full repaired)and Firelance ftmfw. Dogmeat is a useful character indeed, and has found me enough ammo coupled with my Scavenger perk to enable me to annihilate anything the game throws at me. with V3 Deathclaw Gauntlet, V3 Shish-kabab(sp?) Perks and stats to take advantage of ALL guns and melee weapons.V ^My build is a jack of all trade type of build that I took the time to build after carefully considering starting stats, books, bobble heads, level and future expansions. A few saves are dedicated to maxing out characters using exploits and such, plus no Bobblehead collecting until I have all expansions. Took the time to use the exploits before they are patched or if they patched at all. This game has me by the balls. I only wish I would have picked up the PC version as I had no idea what I was missing. I await The Mothership Zeta. (sorry for going over the top)
i found the firelance 2hrs into the game, but... was a waste because it landed in a spot where i wasn't able to get it. what i wrote earlier dogmeat died and i wasn't able to get it :(
I found Dogmeat pretty early in the game, and he has always been helpful. My most recent Dogmeat held of a m^%&*$%^&ing Super Behemoth as i unloaded several dozen clips from my Xhualong(sp?) into him.
I want a pony.
You can force-spawn a Firelance in quite a few areas in the game. My fav spot, early in the game is Anchorage War Memorial, rather than by the silo up the hill from Vault 101.(1-5 mins into the game) Save by the old woman's shack, near a short, wooden dock overlooking the memorial. (save in 1st person, as it's easier to not go down, into the depths of the water, while crossing the water) After saving, jump into the water and cross, making your way to the stairs of the memorial. I suggest looking up or going into 3rd person view while looking up/around to see the streak of smoke/explosion in the sky and pay great attention to each point to pinpoint the location of the burst. If an NPC doesn't pick it up first, Dogmeat is prime time for this endeavor. Any NPC that picks this up by mistake is a dead NPC, karma or not. Lmao. Here is my other fav spot for forcing events:MDPL-05_Power_Station; http://images4.wikia.nocook... I recommend saving FAR from this area, until you find the spot where there are tires by some wreckage. You will need to come before the tires, otherwise you trigger the event, if you come from any side that is relevant to the power station. Once you find the spot and save, you can force more random events. You can do this at a few other radio towers as well as some areas in the ruined city's like Vernon St, Dupon and some others.
