Comic-Con 09: Uncharted 2's Gold Rush Revealed

Unlike last year, there's been a bit of space between E3 and Comic-Con this year, and that means: the games on hand have had a couple of months to be refined. That was acutely on display over at the Uncharted 2: Among Thieves area of the PlayStation booth. Naughty Dog unveiled a new co-op gameplay type, Gold Rush, but that was only part of the story. As a veteran of the Uncharted 2 beta, the visual and gameplay enhancements were evident as soon as I picked up the controller. Naughty Dog's Arne Meyer explains Gold Rush, and (at the end) shows you why you need to drop by and play the demo at this Comic-Con if you can make it.

Nice. Uncharted 2 will definitely be the full package.

It's like Horde, but with objectives.

Ninver3833d ago

you sir have done your research.

Horde has the same objective... eliminate all enemies. This game just has a "capture the flag" thing tacked onto it.

Man of man more co-operative fun for all!! I had a lot of fun in the other co-operative mode and the additional attention with the various modes is very very appreciated.

Me either, though it looks very similar to Gear's Horde mode, only adding objectives, but that's fine by me.

This game is going to be amazing and along with Demon's Souls, Assassin's Creed II and Brutal Legend, my PS3 will be very busy for the rest of the year (as it has been all year with KZ2, Zen Pinball, BF 1943 and inFAMOUS etc.)

Sadly though, my wallet will also be as busy lol.

Not sure yet. I've actually never played an R&C game (aside from the Tools of Destruction demo,) and there are too many other games I am getting.

One I failed to mention (and I don't know why,) is Ninja Gaiden Sigma II. I bought a 360 for NGII and so not buying the suped-up version on PS3 is fail on my part. The addition of online co-op sealed the deal for me.

Anyways, I may get R&C later since I did enjoy the demo for ToD. May not be until next summer (considering how many amazing games are coming out in the first half of 2010.)

Marcelles253833d ago

because its timed and you continue rounds until you lose so its like a Wave Co-op Mode (horde Mode, Nazi Zombies, Halo's ODST Co-op mode, Left For Dead's Survival Mode. Etc.)
