Anyway, 60s fashion trends aside, fads are always coming and going, and the same is especially true in the video game industry. Once a game from one genre becomes a success, a whole flood of titles from the same genre will follow. It's been seen many a time; Mortal Kombat with fighting games, Mass Effect for RPGs, and Gran Turismo for racers have been catalysts for a whole new branch of the gaming tree.
