Gaming Union: Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! What Did I Do to Deserve This? Review

Gaming Union writes "Holy Invasion Of Privacy, Badman! What Did I Do To Deserve This? is a somewhat mad creation from Japanese development studio, Acquire. It's been available in Japan since 2007 under a different name and NIS America have now decided that American audiences are ready to experience this challenging puzzle/strategy game. However, it's only possible to purchase the game online though the PlayStation Store, as it's a digitial download title only.

It's apparently from the off that this is a game that doesn't take itself seriously. The player is thrust into the role of "God of Destruction" and is challenged with overthrowing humanity by making mazes that are so confusing and convoluted that even the bravest heroes will succumb to their devilish traps. Well, that's the plan anyway. To help in the player's quest, an Overlord is kind enough to serve as a guide, but he has quite an attitude. It's exceedingly comical to read his jibes that are aimed at literally everything."

I enjoyed the demo. Good to see the rest of the game seems to be just as fun. :)

Holy Heroes, Badman Is Back For PlayStation Vita

Badman, the titular character in No Heroes Allowed and What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord?, just wants to rest inside his evil lair, but pesky heroes keep invading his home.

The puzzle game developed by Sony and Acquire has players maintain a monster ecosystem to protect Badman and defeat wandering heroes.

Badman G was announced as a PlayStation Vita title in this week’s issue of Famitsu. The game is a free to play title with in game item purchases. Badman G also supports four player co-op.

NIS America localized the first two Badman games and Sony Computer Entertainment America picked up the third so there is a decent chance Badman G will get localized.

From Bad To Lord

Allison Walter – Product and Development Manager for Europe, NIS America: Hi everyone! I have a few bits of important news to announce!

The first is, Badman has decided to change his bad image, or at least his name. Let it be known: The Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman series will immediately be referred to as What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!? The original title had a conflict of interest with an existing IP and it was not NIS America's intention to create any conflict. This new title is intended to better represent the game's whacky retro dungeon world and connect the player's awareness with the overall theme of the game.

Now the title has no pesky syllables that could be used to identify the game.

stupid long-ass name for no reason except just to be long and obnoxious to say.

-Alpha5185d ago

Yeah, though I suppose it does make it unique in its obnoxiously own little way.

Foxgod5185d ago

A delay to change a name :)?
Cool game tho, dont mind a sequel.

VINNIEPAZ5185d ago

Probably had to do with DC comics owning Plastic Man

Godmars2905185d ago

Plasticman?

Thought this whole thing was about badman being too close to Batman. The "holy" being a direct rip on the 60's TV show.

LtSkittles5185d ago

Godmars, it was a joke. At least, I think it was.

djfullshred5185d ago

Both old & new names are really stupid sounding
