Retro/Grade Coming to PS3!

Matt Gilgenbach co-founder, 24 Caret Games writes:

I'm Matt Gilgenbach, co-founder of 24 Caret Games. We are proud to announce that we will be releasing our first game, Retro/Grade, on the Playstation Network for Playstation 3. Retro/Grade stars ace fighter pilot Rick Rocket who has just saved the universe. Unfortunately, the massive destruction he left in his wake has caused a temporal anomaly that reversed the flow of time. You must assume control of Rick's spacecraft and fight through the epic space battle… in reverse!

What on earth? A backwards sideway scrolling space shoot em up?

Innovation right there folks!

Pretty sweet idea, looks quite fun

Played the demo off their website and it's awesome! There were a few times on Pro that the enemy lasers hit me, but I still finished with a 94% on lvl 10.
I can't wait for this game to drop on the PSN! The fact you can also use a guitar controller is even cooler!

It looks better than Braid.

Games with Gold vs. PlayStation+ Free Games – August 2016

It’s that time of the month again folks. The time where gamers collectively gather all over the internet to criticize what free games they get this month. So, who plundered the other’s fanboys for all their self-worth and gratification in life? Who was the victor in July? Let’s take a look.

Hmm, Warriors Orochi actually looks like something I'll enjoy. Hell, even WWE could be fun.

Hoffmann2679d ago (Edited 2679d ago )

Warriors Orochi is awesome, Spelunky is great as well but a bit old, I bet the most people that care about that kind of games bought it already.

WWE is just a bit above mediocre and the stinker this month I think, personally I was happy that I could rent it a while ago for a weekend instead of buying it.

Yakuza 5 for PS3 is one of the best games on the system and I read that Rebel Galaxy might be great fun too. Seems it is a good month no matter which platform you prefer.

TylerFischer2679d ago

Yeah Yakuza 5 is as close to a PS4 game as you can get on the PS3. As for Rebel Galaxy, it has all the right ingredients for a great game, but it just comes up a little short in each department. Still a very solid pick up for free though.

Yetter2679d ago

Rebel Galaxy is a ton of fun. I've got it for PC but I'd like to have a free copy on xbox

TylerFischer2679d ago

Rebel Galaxy is much better on PC than it is on console.

I really believe this is the reason there is so much hate every month around the free games. Some fanboys cannot stand to lose any pointless internet console battle, ever.

TylerFischer2679d ago

Yeah people love to make competition out of anything they can. It's a classic human thing to do.

rainslacker2679d ago

I'm more human than you are. I challenge you to a contest of humaness....

Outside_ofthe_Box2679d ago

Pretty much.

Online play is why people pay for Gold and Plus anyway. People were paying for Gold before the free games. A lot more people started paying for Plus after Sony put online behind pay wall.

Most aren't going to stop their subscription just because the FREE games are 'bad.' I mean even if one is delivering significantly better games than the other, are people gonna put their money where their mouth is and stop paying their sub at the expense of online play in order to get better FREE games? Nope, just pointless arguing to make the other feel bad about the FREE games they are receiving.

TylerFischer2679d ago

The losers are people who pay for PS Plus and Xbox Live and don't even know they have free games to download each month -- like most of my friends :D.

P_Bomb2678d ago

I think you and I have the same friends, lol!
