PlayStation LifeStyle writes, "One argument some Xbox 360 owners have against the DualShock 3 is the lack of "triggers" for the lower shoulder buttons. Gioteck has remedied this issue nicely and any shooter fan should not be without RealTriggers."
$5 for these things? I may have to pick these up soon. Thanks for the review, PSLS!
they work great. It's not the grip but the feeling that you finger is not going to fall off. I had no problem with the way my ps3 controller was.. But after I got these it feels like your finger will slip off without them.
I got 2 pairs of these babies. I love them! They're really worth the investment. Only $5 a pop, you can't go wrong with these.
I was thinking about getting a new controller for my PS3 that's similar to a 360 controller simply for the shoulder buttons' concavity. Then I saw these at GameStop for $5 and picked em up instead.
Where are the adapters to turn my 360's triggers into slippery, slidy, slope buttons? Oh yeah no one would want those.
I have been using these for a while now, and I have grown pretty accustomed to them. They do a fantastic job with shooting and racing games. Pair it up with Kontrolfreek (there are two kinds), and you will be very pleased. http://pfcdn.net/site/t/pro...
These are great! This is how the PS3 controller should have been in the first place. The flipside it is only $5.
I got'em too. Makes a world of difference.
Sweet, now do the have a whole 360 controller snapover. Or at least som e thumb stick snap overs, due to the fact i am tired resetting my thumbs cause of them sliding off.
They are awesome!
They should just re design the controller with this in mind. Keep everything the same but maybe slicken up the lines a bit as well. I love the feel of the DS3, but it does need a re design.
Got a pair. Love em. I still feel that, for an FPS, whether you fire with the 1 or the 2 buttons/triggers is a matter of preference. I like having triggers, but recently, my fingers seem to be migrating back to the 1 button as a matter of ergonomics.
I got some of these triggers ages ago free with a PS3 magazine and they are great, would not use the controller without them now. They are also sold in the UK at GAME and seen them at PC world also. Only cheap, between £1.99 and £2.99 and simple to fit. They are great for use as accellerator and brake for GT5p or any racing game, makes it easier to get the right amount of pressure with your finger.
Fine, I'll get them. Only $5, so why not. =]
These things are great, I've had them since Christmas. What we need now are some modified analogue stick covers that have a concave surface. My thumbs often slip off the normal ones.
then you need these http://www.bespoke-solution...
I think I am going to pick some of these up. Lets just hope they can hold with daily 4 hour game sessions of Oblivion!
They should be able to...especially if they are able to withstand 8+ hour sessions of Killzone 2/COD/Resistance 2. They are great!
they look good and are cheap
Real Triggers are ace. Highly recommended. I put them on my controllers and I'm not looking back. It's the way the Dualshock should be. Sony should buy the Real Triggers company's patent.
...or MAYBE Sony should redesign their 10 y.o. controller, and actually put "real triggers" in the DS3.
Well, yes. I'm saying that, if they have to, buy the patent so they can build the buttons in this exact fashion, except integrated
I don't think they're great for all games. When playing Infamous I found it alot easier to use the shield without the triggers so I would prefer if Sony were to include these with every DS3 controller. edit: Infamous is the only game where this has happened for me though. But I still think an option is better than having it built in.
Funny how everyone are saying these things are so great but in turn Troll-Killer says that Sony should make the controllers this way but he gets disagree's. God forbid Sony not being perfect.
Well worth the money.
i love them.
that sounds very good ...
they sound pretty sweet and for only 5 bucks, i may have to pick up a pair
http://playstationlifestyle... So cool
Bought these off amazon a few weeks ago. Amazing how such an inexpensive little attachment makes such a big difference. Biggest issue I had with PS3 was how awkward the shoulder buttons felt and it started hurting my hand after a few hours of playing. It's because your fingers go inward trying to hold the controller instead of just being able to "relax" on the triggers. All my friends bought them. Great little accessory for $5
I bought these abotu a week ago and the only problem i have with them is my figners are too big, but i keep them on, raising the weight of my controller to 255 grams
Most shooters (or most good ones anyways) use L1/R1 to aim/shoot, not L2/R2. I've never had problem with the way the L2 & R2 buttons are anyways.
i dont really see a need for it, the controller is fine to me the way it is. but thats simply my opinion
But for multiplat games that use R2 as the main fire button or racing games that use R2 and L2, the Real Triggers are great.
That's sorta true. I for one think that any game worth playing has a fully configurable button layout to begin with.
I agree Bankai. I actually got a set of these free when I bought SCIV last year. I've never actually used them or found the need to use them. BUT! I'm not a huge FPS player. I own, The Darkness, UTIII, Resistance 1&2 and Killzone but only completed the story, never played to the extent of going online. I'm also not a huge racing fan. I own Ridge Racer... 7? and Burnout and again, I've played through the offline races but never taken either game online. I'm sure some people will find these very handy but not me. The standard DS3 covers pretty much all my needs for gaming.
Great little invention. They really do make the controller better for FPS, and the only real difference between the 360 and PS3 controller afterward is the left analog stick placement, which is really a matter of opinion.
The triggers awesome, just try not to pinch your fingers. Who thought $5 could make such a difference.
couldn't I have invented Real Triggers? They are an awesome no brainer for ps3 owners I have 2 pairs myself. The only drawback is that eventually they will wear and break off at some point (mine have yet to). Has anyone invented actual buttons in this shape that I could open my controller and replace the DS3's L2/R2 buttons with? I know it will void any warranty on them I don't care about that.
Total Deja Vu. I have a feeling an article like this has been on N4G like months ago, but after reading the comments I saw they were almost exactly the same. Damn, I'm in the twilight zone or something.
... Well worth the money.
I don't know. I got them free with Killzone 2 and tried the game with and without the triggers, and I didn't like the feeling of the triggers.
One would better get an adapter to use a 360 controller on the PS3...
The point is to make the controller better (with real triggers), not worse (by replacing it with the crappy 360 controller).
Only if you prefer compromised products.
I've got a pair of these! Cost me 6 dollars. I highly recommend them. They feel like a very natural attachment. If someone handed me a Dualshock for the first time and the real triggers were attached I'd assume they were part of the controller.
that 360 d-pad. Too much, too soon?
I got some for £1.50 and they are well worth the money.
OH MY GOD....ITS MICHAEL JACKSON....woot, the king of pop is alive and well on N4G. Love ya man, and these triggers are great, really really great. ITTY BITTY BABY ITTY BITTY BOAT
But I'm good with the standard triggers.
