SFX-360: Trino Review

SFX-360 writes: "Trino is a game about a tadpole looking alien whose finding himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. You see Trino has an evolving power which has drawn the attention of the evil robotic Nanites. They decide to capture our tadpole hero and place him in a laser prison. Unknown to the evil Nanites, Trino has figured out a way to escape by using his Triangle Trap powers. Now the Nanites must do everything in their power to stop Trino from escaping...even if it means destroying him.

Trino is an Xbox Live Indie Game from Trino Team. The main goal of the game is to destroy the robotic Nanites by creating a triangle trap. Press the A button to to start the length of the trap, then press the A button again to set the depth of the trap, and finally press the A button once again to finish the trap. Enemies that are inside of the trap will be destroyed and leave behind an orb for you to obtain. That's all there is to it! You have to applaud the development team for making a game so simple that anyone get sit down and play from the beginning without any complications..."

Inside The Making Of XBLCG's Trino

Trino Team: Trino began as a graduate student-pitched project in Carnegie Mellon's Entertainment Technology Center. The goal was to create a simple and addictive game in 14 weeks ready to be certified by Microsoft for Xbox Live's XNA Community Games. At the end of our first semester we had a six level vertical slice of game play.

Over the course of the summer we made small improvements, like optimization and adding a boss, to prepare it for Dream Build Play 2008 and Independent Games Festival (IGF).
